Any ideas what this could be?

Thanks so much. I'm still thinking that it's got to be a mistake, so am trying really really hard not to get too hopeful. That pink line is still there, though, however faint...

sounds like a BFP to me too. Congratulations if that's the case. Good luck! (PS acu can be really helfpul throughout pregnancy too btw)

MrsHY1 · 17/10/2011 20:20

Bloody hell Chateau - fingers crossed!!!
Nope - no reason was given in my case - was just told that this is what happens with some women.
Yeah I wondered that cycle when I got 65 if I might be up the duff - but reading more into it (I was on Clomid that cycle) it was probably as a result of more than one follicle becoming dominant, hence more progesterone being pumped out.

Thanks jollster and MrsHY1. I'm still quite in denial, and almost certain that tomorrow's test to come back as a big fat negative. We've been trying for a year now - six months on Metformin - and I'm at the stage of fully expecting that it will never happen. Have already convinced myself that the test must have been past its sell-by date (last ordered the Internet cheapies late last year, I think - how long are they good for?) but couldn't find anything on the packaging. Gaah...

Will bear acu in mind, jollster. MrsHY, if this one prove to be a false alarm, I think I may be pressing for Clomid in the new year.

Keeping fx for you!

One of my best friends in RL has recently found out she was pg after 18 months ttc- so it happens.

Good luck

alwayspoor · 17/10/2011 22:56

Hi chateau, Sorry for the late reply. I certainly hope you are not having an ectopic but wanted to throw it in there as brown discharge can be a sign of EP and was in my 2 EPs.

Congratulations and hope all is well for you. Smile

In answer to your question, there is lots of informtion on the ectopic pregnancy trusts website about symptoms but off the top of my head, brown discharge, sometimes pain, shoulder tip pain, sometimes bleeding, can have a false negative pregnancy test

Good luck.

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 18/10/2011 08:50

What's the news chateau?

ChateauMargot · 18/10/2011 09:39

Just tested with FirstResponse and...

TWO PINK LINES!!

(I'm still shaking a bit. Am determined not to get too excited as I think I could only be 2 weeks gone at the most. Currently preparing myself to find out that it's an ectopic, or an ovarian cyst, or a MMC... can't quite digest!)

Thank you so much for the nudge, ladies :)

flamingtoaster · 18/10/2011 09:47

Should have added I had brown bleeding for weeks with DS but everything was fine - hope it is for you too.

ChateauMargot · 18/10/2011 10:26

Thanks, flaming! I really appreciate every bit of reassurance I can get right now :)

MysteriousHamster · 18/10/2011 12:39

I had brown/red bleeding for 12 days when I was pregnant with my DS!

HaveALittleFaithBaby · 18/10/2011 13:13

Congratulations!

ChateauMargot · 18/10/2011 13:26

Thanks, all. I actually have a doctor's appointment this aft to renew my Met prescription - suppose I shall have to tell her about the result now, eh?

OP posts:
MrsHY1 · 18/10/2011 14:53

YYYYYYEEEEEEEAAAAAAHHHH! Amazing news, well done!
Yes tell your Doc but I know my specialists have always told me to stay on metformin for the first 12 weeks of pregnancy - not sure why but thought I would pass that on.
Maybe this is a lucky thread - I am still getting brown gunk today at 10dpo - but then i get this every month so it's not unusual like it was for you!
xx

ChateauMargot · 18/10/2011 15:01

Cheers, MrsHY1 - and fingers crossed that you have good news soon, too! I'd had the brown spotting before, just for not such a long time with no period, so it could be just a matter of time for you.

And yes, I'd heard the same thing about staying on the Met. May book an appointment with my consultant to confirm, but I definitely plan to leave the doc's today with a few more pills.

randomimposter · 18/10/2011 17:05

delighted for you! Relax and try to enjoy the ride! x

ChateauMargot · 18/10/2011 17:41

Thanks, jollster.

Have just seen doc and she's sending me in for an early scan tomorrow to rule out an ectopic or MMC. Then it's back to the endo to find out why my prolactin levels at my last blood test were so high (945 instead of 400 - eek!). Then referral to an obstetrician...

ilovedjasondonovan · 18/10/2011 17:52

I'm sure everything will be OK with you, but I just wanted to say that I was TTC for 2 years with my first; which we sadly lost. Then it only took 2 months and 1 month respectively to get my 2 DDs - kinda kick started my body.

but I'm sure you'll be fine - brown discharge will be just fine.

CaipirinhasAllRound · 18/10/2011 20:34

ooh congratulations! That's great news!!

AF arrived for me yesterday, a few days earlier than normal

ChateauMargot · 18/10/2011 21:49

Oh, poo - sorry to hear that Caipirinhas. Fingers crossed for next month...
