Hi all,
After two years without periods I now have regular bleeding but I never ovulate. I have successfully conceived using clomid with my first son but would like to try and OVULATE using other methods (due to cost of follicle tracking and the side effects). Has anyone SUCCESSFULLY ovulated using any more natural methods???? Would love to hear other people's experiences....

Ok - not sure what my body is doing - the opk got darker on wednesday but wasn't quite positive. it is now back to definitely negative but no temperature rise yet. So not sure if my body tried to ovulate but couldn't? Dh is away at the moment so I am now willing my body to not ovulate till he returns!

Any news on you ovulating Worrying?

Fairygodmother1 · 12/09/2011 16:45

Well I'm trying to follow my temp but it's up & down everyday! I've now got an app on my phone to follow it too!

LIG1979 · 12/09/2011 19:08

Hi Fairy,
Are you taking your temp at the same time every day before getting up? Also, if you drink too much alcohol that can raise it. Until this month my temp used to range between 36.25 and 36.4 pre-ovulation then above 36.6 post ovulation as long as I took it between 6.30 am and 7.30 am. The values don't matter it is the change between pre and post ovulation.

This month my temperature is all over the place - I think it may be the maca I am taking. I though I had got to grips with charting but now I am not so sure!!Good luck!x

Fairygodmother1 · 12/09/2011 19:15

Yeah I am & only reaching for the therm sticking it my mouth & waiting for it to beep. lowest being 35.90 & highest being 36.52, Not hit ovulation yet. But every day is up & down. The graph looks like a mountain range!

LIG1979 · 13/09/2011 12:46

So does mine - I put a link on the charting site to see if anyone could help. Normally mine is fairly stable - not sure what is going on. Think I may stop taking the maca for a few days to see if that makes it a bit more stable.

Just got a proper positive opk - very excited! Most about the fact that it is only CD23 so should have a cycle of less than 40 days which brings me closer to having a normal cycle. (Last cycle I O'd on CD 43.)

Sorry just had to share that with someone and I am sure the friend I am seeing tonight will not understand and her husband would totally Blush.

Now off to get ready for DH to get home to seduce him. (Actually just sent him a text to say my sticks say I have to do it with him immediately and all weekend! Very romantic. )

How's it going LIG1979?

CareBear1 · 01/11/2011 22:32

Hi mind if I butt in? Fairy I remember you from a clomid thread, hope u r well, I am still going on all this stuff too. Recently found this great book which gives diagrams of chart patterns and what they mean and how to treat them. Mine was up and down too, according to this it is 'liver qi stagnation', and the recommendations are quite easy. Its called 'tue infertility cure' by randine Lewis.

CareBear1 · 01/11/2011 22:37

Should also add that book has a chapter on pcos

Fairygodmother1 · 02/11/2011 09:10

Hi Carebear , has the book been helpful? I'm having much trouble interpretng my temperature chart!!!

CareBear1 · 02/11/2011 09:37

Fairy, honestly I feel like I've just discovered the world's not actually flat. The book is written by someone who is a qualified doctor as well as qualified in chinese medicine so its really easy to follow and not too 'out there'. The thing I like most about this book is that the whole philosophy is that problems conceiving is just about imbalances that need help to be rectified, and the diagrams and other diagnostic checks help you work out where the imbalances are, how to help them and also how to see if its working. Some of the recommendations are things like daily foot soaks (as all the 'meridians' to the uterus go through the feet. !?! Some of the explanations are a bit like, 'really'?, but it seems to be working for me, and there's loads of examples through the book of people's conditions and how they were rectified. Honestly Fairy, if you do one thing buy this book. If you regret it I'll send you the cost of it myself!! oh and i misspelt before its 'the infertility cure'. She has a website called 'the fertile soul'. Its just chinese medicine explanations really so there's plenty of other texts out there explaining this stuff, I just always dismissed this stuff before. x

CareBear1 · 02/11/2011 10:01

Actually, forget the website its too confusing. the book is very different to her website.

Fairygodmother1 · 02/11/2011 11:23

Just ordered myself a copy, lets see how it goes! Will stay away from the website then lol

CareBear1 · 02/11/2011 11:44

I will follow this thread to see how you get on with it.

Fairygodmother1 · 06/11/2011 19:29

I got the book yesterday - just need to read it now!

CareBear1 · 06/11/2011 20:45

ooh I am very excited to see how you get on with it, I really hope you like it. I've had it about 2 months now and I must admit I have to keep re-reading sections as there's so much in there. Check out pages 195-198 and 230-241. x
