Hi all, I'm a happy, healthy 25 yr old. DH and i have been ttc #2 for 5 months now and nothing!!! I know its not that long but whats really concerning me is AF!!

I came off cerazette (which i have heard awful things about) in Oct last year Had a first normal period beginning of Jan which is when we started trying and nothing no period again till beginning of April!!

I have tried ovulation sticks and according to them i'm not even ovulating, i've no idea how long my cycle is as its not normal atm. I'm trying agnus castus as i read it can help also evening primrose oil.

Please don't tell me i'm lucky to have 1 already and i understand that i love DD to bits but would like her to have a sibling. Also saying relax it will happen doesn't work as it's impossible to forget, once i get a bee in my bonnet that's it!!!

Has anyone else had any similar experience or any advice? Getting very fed up and frustrated now. Never thought i'd will my period to come!!!

Sometimes when you come off a pill it can bring problems that were being 'disguised' by being on on it. You've been pregnant at least one (obviously), but that doesn't mean you might not have developed something since then that was being hidden by being on the pill.
Not having periods is called 'amenorrhoea', officially you would need to miss a period for 6 months, but you had one in January and another in April, so that wouldn't count.
Lots of exercise, being underweight or overweight, or chronic stress can delay periods, but so can conditions such as PCOS or problems with the thyroid.

Really, the best thing you could do is make an appointment with your GP, don't go in there saying 'I'm trying to get pg and have being trying for 5 months' as they will just shut their ears and usher you out the door until it's been a year.
Say 'I came off the pill in October, my first cycle was X number of days, my second cycle was X number of days. I'm worried that these very long and irregular cycles might mean a hormone problem and I'd like to have it investigated because I want to get pg again'.

There's no point in stressing about it while this hasn't been investigated, start taking steps towards looking into it and at least you'll feel like you're making progress in the right direction.

Would suggest you now visit the GP with a view to having blood tests done to see what your hormone levels are like.

As your periods are irregular the blood tests can be done according to calendar days i.e the 2nd and 21st of the month. They should test your LH and FSH levels on day 2 (an imbalance of LH to FSH can be indicative of a very common condition called polycystic ovaries) and the progesterone later
on during the month.

Both PCO and thyroid problems should be now looked for during blood tests.

Would suggest you refrain from taking AC as this can sometimes make things worse if there is an underlying hormonal problem. If you want to use AC you are far better off using instead the services of a qualified medical herbalist.

Thanks quite worried now but got an appointment for Tues afternoon.

Ladybee thanks for the advice about not saying we're ttc, i went ti the dr about this in Feb and felt they laughed me out the surgery as we hadn't been trying long enough. But 2 periods in 6 months can't be normal can it????? Confused
