Hi everyone, really happy i found this, my husband and i have been trying to concieve now for the past 2 years and still no further forward, im 32 and have had regular periods since i was 13, just recently we finally went to get further help in which we are in the process, this last month we have tried so hard only to get my period 2 days ago (how upsetting and dissapointing)but with this i had no pains it just came on, until last night i was woken around 5am with imense pain like i have not felt before to actually bring me to tears, my husband got me some anadin which didnt help at all so i got up as this would not go away, finally the pain went off around 6.30am but i cant help think if it was a normal period pain or something else, im nervous and really dissapointed we both are desparate for a baby, can anyone shed any light on this

Hi wantalittleangel sorry you're having such a rough time :( have you tried charting your temperature and/or ovulation predictor kits? I say this because I found that I was ovulating later in my cycle than I thought, so DH were stopping TTC too early in the cycle. I found reading Taking Charge Of Your Fertility very helpful and found it quite empowering. You've done the right thing to seek help from your doctor, I hope they were supportive.

I'm sorry, I don't have any ideas about your pain but definitely make sure you mention it when you see the specialist.

I've just reread my post, I hope I didn't sound dismissive, I didn't mean to...

I just want to say that it took us 2 years to conceive our DS so don't give up hope. We didnt get any help from my GP, I went after trying for 18 months and was basically dismissed. I don't know why it took so long for us to conceive though, in fact when we finally we were on holiday in the Lake District and DH had a stinking cold!

I hope you either conceive soon or your GP finds something so that you can get some help. Good luck :)

Hi Thank you both so much, we are anxious for our test results to come back to see if there is anything wrong, i guess once we know we can go from there, but we just want it to happen now, its funny what you say 'sevendwarves' being on holiday and your husband having a cold, i heard from a lot of people that when you dont are not actually trying or thinking about it....it happens
Well fingers crossed our results will come back ok and the specialist can advise us what to do next

Thanks again for your support x

When will you get some results?

wantalittleangel · 22/03/2011 20:25

Hi got most results back and so far all OK, they did a preg test but negative which they said could have been too early :( but day two since AF and getting mild cramps, feeling dizzy, tired and light pink spotting, could this be my imagination or is this normal, just hoping :)

Oh, sweetie. It's so hard, isn't it. We tried for nearly 4 years (I'm now 19wks pg, yay!) but that unrelenting pain and disappointment is just awful. I really know exactly how you feel and I sympathise so much with you.
It's good that you've got yourself in the system - it takes a while but once you start seeing consultants and everything that can help as you feel like you're actually doing something. They really know what they're doing- it can still be frustrating and slow but you will get there in the end.
I don't know about your pains, but I know that I had some pretty weird twinges and aches: my consultant said it's a mix of your body getting used to working naturally after years of contraception, being hyper sensitive because you're wanting your bits to work properly and sometimes you just have weird pains - ovulation and periods are just different month to month. Mention it when you get to see your gp next, and when you see the consultant for the first time as well. It might point to something for you that may help them come to a diagnosis faster. It might be nothing at all tho too :)
My heart goes out to you, but keep strong. I nearly gave up so many times, and no-one would blame you for feeling like that. Please pm me if you want to chat more, I can only tell you what it was all like for me and the issues I had, but i might be able to help you prepare for what they'll ask. Good luck xx

Thank you so much for your kind words, it has been hard especially when my awfull sister in law is now pregnant again and she lets EVERYONE know about it, but like you say jenniL1977, it will happen soon and i think a lot sooner then later i can feel it this time :) the twinges are still happening day 3 - 4 after period, not sure if you can actually ovulate straight after your period but thats what it feels like, husband and i have already been jumping into bed hehe just staying positive, conrats to you though you must be over the moon, hope they are keeping an eye on you aswell making sure your well and the baby is well and healthy, it must be a really nice feeling to finally go shopping for your baby and choosing names etc i cant wait and i know it be soon for us, take care and thanks again
