Is anyone else using ovulation predictor test strips (for LH surge)?

My periods havent started since DD, she's now 15months and Im ready for number two :)

Ive significantly cut down breast feeds and am no longer BFing at night... soo Im sure my period or ovulation is close.

I ordered a large bag of ovulation strips from amazon and am testing daily. Instructions say the test line should be darker than the validity line... Ive found a test line that is as dark but not as wide as the validity line.

Is it really obvious when you have a positive result?

Hi - I use those (as a back up to CBFM). The lines are pretty easy to see when they appear - they do tend to be there within a minute when it's positive, a day before I tend to get a line but a bit fainter.

I found that doing it mid afternoon gave the best results. HTH

ive tried them and only ever got a line or no line and its never been darker or as dark as the test line.

Ive since had an LH surge... the second line came up quickly (within 1 - 2 mins) and was clearly as dark if not darker than the other line.... I now feel confident of when my LH surges are happening...

With the cheapo strips I only ever get lines around about the same colour, only very slightly darker at best. When I splash out on the First response test, I get lines which are twice as dark. But they cost a fortune!

Hi, I used the strips for a couple of months but didn't have much success and needed it to be right as was using a sperm donor. I eventually bought the ovulation predictor tests online (from a website called Pride Angel only took a couple of days to come) they werent overly expensive and had a much better repsponse than with the strips. I also bought some mulitvitamins think they were called Vitafem from the same website to help boost my fertility, not sure if they are ok to take when breastfeeding though so you would have to check? (Might be worth you taking a look , http;//www.prideangel.com)I found my surge was on a different day than I thought it was going to be but after a couple of months I got a good patern so it was worth spending the money to be sure. Good luck xx

I don't find them that reliable either. I either get no line, or a much fainter or thinnier line even when testing several times every day!
