IVF- Can an egg be inserted before it's fertilised?

I've got no fallopian tubes due to two ectopic pregnancies. Everything else is perfectly healthy and I have regular periods. I've trawled the Internet to find the answer to this and can't find anything so I'm guessing it's a no. I would love to get pregnant naturally and wondered if it's possible to have eggs removed as in an IVF procedure but then inserted straight into the uterus for my Hubby to fertilise in the usual way... I've had two children naturally so I know I can get pregnant and carry to full term. Am I being daft to think this could be possible? I know eggs are normally fertilised in the Fallopian tubes and can take 7-10 days to get to the uterus- perhaps this means it's not likely to work. Anyone know anything??!

I don't think your idea would work, but proper IVF (using your own eggs and sperm) may well. Good luck.

Thank you both for taking the time to reply- I guessed that might be the case but needed to put the idea to rest before deciding what to do next.
