Has anyone dealt with low sperm density issues?

We had the results of a sperm analysis test yesterday and all seemed fine apart from sperm density where the WHO guidelines say 20 and above is good and my husband scored 7.

We are seeing a consultant on Tuesday but I wondered in the meantime if anyone had dealt with a similar issue?

When my husband asked the clinic if that meant it would be difficult to conceive they said "if you are trying naturally" which is a bit of a blow at the moment. Although as they are a private clinic it is in their interests to say that!

Any and all thoughts gratefully received!

Hello, Just wanted to come back to you. We are in a similar situation. Husband last 2 analysis came back with count of 3 million. We have a son though who is 2 and was conceived in the first month of trying! We have been trying for no. 2 for a year now. Our consultant said that although it affects fertility you can still get pregnant naturally. I think we are going to wait a few more months and if nothing happens will go down the AC route. How long have you been trying? It is so difficult finding out about this but hopefully we demonstrate that it can definitely happen !

Thanks daisy. I'm new to the conception board so appreciate your reply!

We've only been trying a couple of months but as my husband's nearly 40 and I'm early 30s we thought it was worth doing a private test to check things were in working order.

Guess we wait to see what the clinic says on Tuesday (but I am still hopeful that we won't need them - am ovulating today so we shall see...)
