Can't answer your question but didn't want your post to go unanswered, all the best of luck for trying again :-)

monkeyflippers · 09/02/2011 16:33

So sorry for your loss Sad

Good lucky with trying again. This has never happened to me. Did have a miscarraige though (not trying to suggest it's anywhere near the same thing) and left it 2 or 3 cycles after that. Did the hospital not give you any guidelines on that?

Thankyou very much :)

MonkeyFlippers i havent really been told anything yet, i suppose they'll let me know hopefully at the post mortem.
He was my first baby, so i feel a bit lost at the minute.
All i want is a baby but i cant do anything about it, very frustrating :(

theres a thread on the miscarriage/pg loss, its on losses over 20 weeks. The ladies on there seem very clued up and lovely. Sorry for your loss. X

monkeyflippers · 09/02/2011 16:46

Aaah I'm so sad for you. I never know what the right thing to say is about these things. Want to say something positive but don't want to be insensitive.

Hopefully you'll find out more info at the post mortem and can start trying again. I know nothing will replace your loss but I hope everything goes ok for you next time.

MaryIsMyHomegirl · 09/02/2011 16:49

Thankyou Pecka i'll take a look :)

Dont worry, as you probably know MonkeyFlippers people never know what to say.. its a terrible thing but i'm just trying to comfort myself in the fact it just wasnt meant to be.
I'm just glad i got to meet him and say goodbye properly. He was perfectly tiny :)
But thankyou so much, i hope its not going to come back worst case. Fingers crossed ey :)

maryis I'm so sorry to hear about your little boy. My daughter was born sleeping last June. We've started ttc again in December so around the 6 month mark. I personally didn't feel ready till then, still not convinced we are now, but on the journey we are. Its such a personal choice that only you will know when is the right time.

We didn't have a PM but they were running a lot of tests on me and we were advised to wait until I had had my 24 week post birth bloods. (Infact my conclusion appointment is tomorrow, almost 8 months after Belle's death) Are they doing any tests like that one you?

My hospital has a unit I can ring at any time for questions like this. It may be worth giving your hospital a call to discuss when would be the best time to ttc again.

Gentle steps lovely it is still incredibly early days for you. I post regularly on the bereaved mummies thread - you would be made very welcome if you ever feel you would like support and a friendly ear from people who understand. There are many Mums there who have lost children of a range of ages - stillborn right up to adult children.

Lots of love x
