Hi!

First post on here!
A little bit of back ground info I had fertility treatment and conceived 1st cycle (I was soo shocked!) sadly I had a missed miscarriage and had a D&C in early October since then i have had 2 periods, so my body is still adjusting.

I am going to start treatment again in April can anyone suggest anything I can do to get into the best health possible, currently I take folic acid daily, and iron tablets as after everything was left anemic, I would love to take prenatel vitamins but I cant due to the fact it would interfere with my thyroid medication. Any advice would be great

Thanks for reading :)

Sorry about your MCSad I too suffered a MMC in August of last year and am currently TTC again. There are lots of things you can do when you start TTC to give you better odds of falling pg. You would be very welcome over on this thread

We have all been there. Give yourself time to relax and don't be concerned if you keep having emotional hiccups along the way, it's totally natural.

Have you considered acupuncture? I am looking into it for myself.

hi babypops - just wanted to ask why the prenatal vitamins would interfere with your thyroid medication? I have to take thyroxine in the morning and I read that thyroxine can affect iron absorbtion, so I take prenatal vitamins after my evening meal so there is a big timelag between the two. Have you heard that taking prenatal vitamins at all can impact thyroxine? Thx!

Hi. sorry for your loss. I too had a mmc last year.

Organic milk and cheese only, as much organic fruit and veg as possible, brazil nuts to help implantation and wheat grass every day.

Thanks for the replies! I am trying to eat healthily, exercise and keep positive its so hard, i have the odd blue day.

PurplePepper - I spoke to my doctor and a pharmacist and they said that iron is ok with thyroxine after a certain amount of time. with prenatals its the calcium that can be a problem as it can stop the thyroxine being absorbed fully.

Thanks babypops!

Stay positive and it's perfectly okay to have a blue day! I had a spontaneous miscarriage at 6 weeks on 12th Jan, but I figure that my body will know how to repair itself. I seem to be "craving" fruit at the moment so I'm just going with it. I'm convinced that the most important thing is to relax! December 2010 was the first time I got pregnant since losing a baby very late on in January 2008, and I think it was because we made a conscious decision not to TTC that month and just enjoy Christmas - very shocked when I got a BFP as the IVF doctor told us outright she didn't think we would be able to conceive naturally!! At least it gives us hope even if that pregnancy wasn't meant to be :-)

Good luck!

babypops; as well as the TLC everyone is recommending i would highly recommend a zinc supplement (as long as it doesnt interfere with the thyroxine absorption); since starting zinc about 6 months ago i have been in better general health than ever before, avoiding every cough and cold. I did have a link to a health professional's website talking about the various benefits of zinc and as well as your own general health it is key for healthy cell division and hence reproductive health (recommended for males to take as well).

i would also try to encourage your husband to take the same steps as you, particularly the zinc; whilst you're the host the raw ingredients are pretty important too!

Good luck and sorry to hear of your troubles
