Confused about whether I'm pregnant!

Hi this is my first post so apologies if I go on a bit!

We've been TTC #1 since mid-September and I've had two periods since then but my last period started on 9 November and I missed my December period. I came off the pill in April and my cycle has been a bit irregular but generally around 5 weeks/5 wks 4 days. I've done about 5 CB tests and they are all negative and I've also used the CB ovulation tests this month and negative every day! I went to the doctor on 23 December because I'd been feeling a bit queasy and he took a urine sample but the lab lost it over Christmas!

For the last couple of weeks, I've been really bloated low down in my abdomen (and prob a bit of Christmas weight!), I'm really tired, moody, my skin has broken out, I've developed a bit of facial hair and my hair is greasy - all apparently symptoms of pregnancy but the tests are still negative (last one this morning)!

I don't know whether to go back to the docs this week or wait until my next period (had I had one in December) is overdue - I'm worried about wasting his time but I'm stressing myself out big style! There's no point doing more tests as they are all negative!

Any help/advice much appreciated!! We haven't told anyone that we're TTC and none of my friends have had babies yet (even though I'm 29!) so I need some advice!
Thanks

I would have blood tests done to see what your hormone levels are like because irregular periods can be caused by hormonal imbalances. Problems with the thyroid gland and PCOS can be detected through blood tests; two possible causes of irregular periods. Also if your cycles are irregular CB ovulation tests are not helpful to use as these can give false positive results. Also multiple positive results on such kits are commonly seen women with hormonal imbalances like PCOS.

I don;'t unfortunately think you are expecting because of all the negative test results you have had.

I would seek help sooner rather than later.
My GP referred me after 6 months of ttc without success due to my irregular periods so it would be beneficial for you to now see if the GP is now willing to do some blood tests and perhaps an internal ultrasound to see what your ovaries are like (if they are polycystic for instance).

blood tests are much more accurate than urine tests. Some women just don't get positive pee sticks and no one knows why!

If you are convinced that you are preggo then you are more likely to think you have symptoms, AND a lot of symptoms are similar around your time of the month!

good luck with conceiving!!
