roastie · 17/01/2011 14:11

Hi Kezia

DH and i have been for lots of tests, and all have come back as normal. Finished my 6month cycle of Clomid 2 months ago which is when i started using the CBFM. I go back to the hospital next month to see what the next steps are , but depending on what they say we are going to way up going private.

Using the CBFM has helped me stay more postitive because until i started using this i didnt even know if i ovulated as i had no signs. I used the ovulation test sticks but it never showed up. I know the first month i used it was probably void becasue i still may of had clomid in my system but this month i have 'Laid Another Egg' so this at least makes me feel at least something is working.

I have just started reflexology with a lady who is trained in advanced fertility reflexology and the things she picked up was amazing! I have my second session tomorrow night and cant wait, at the very least it makes me feel like im doing something and i have some control over this.

We took a few months off too when things got a little too much and it did us the world of good.

Can i ask, do you know why it isnt happening for you?
x

roastie · 17/01/2011 14:16

Question, the first month i used the CBFM i got my peak day, then the next day it didnt ask me to pee on the stick it just assumed i was OV. THIS month i peak yesterday, and then today it asked me to pee on the stick for my 2nd day of Peak. Why did it ask me this, this month but not last month??? Confused
Has this happened to anyone else??

So as of tommorrow i am on my 2WW - Fingers and toes crossed x

boba82 · 17/01/2011 14:40

Good luck to all those on the 2ww, FX!

Scan went well, everything looked good but quite early - only 5 1/2 weeks rather than 6 so have to go back on 27th just to confirm all ok. Still sick as a dog and boobs getting huge so taking all this as good signs - FX it sticks in the right place!

Hope everyone doing ok?

OP posts:
PinkCustard · 17/01/2011 14:40

Roastie it just depends how many sticks you've used before you get Peak. If you've used less than 10 it'll keep asking for a stick until you've used all 10. Although it is programmed to show a 2nd Peak, a High and then back to Low once the initial Peak is detected.

PinkCustard · 17/01/2011 14:42

Fab news Boba - I so can't wait for massive norks and scans etc (I'll take a rain check on the sickness though, didn't have any with DS so hoping I might not again...IF I ever get preg that is!)

Keziahhopes · 17/01/2011 15:30

Hey - I will even have the sickness Pink if it means I ever get a bfp!!

Roastie after 11mths of testing with the nhs and several SA (semen analysis) for my dh's, whose results did improve or change each time as men get a fresh supply of semen every 3months, we discovered on a SA test that he had an antibody disorder. Also my blood tests were a bit low - ie only "equivocal for ovulation" so with the two combined the NHS told us, in great style to "keep trying for another 6mths then come back." No clomid, no nothing. Am nearly 36, being ttc over 3yrs naturally (and the rest!) and by this point it was over a year since fertility testing happened. So we went elsewhere. Now got stuck with other issues, not the clinic's issues, that is preventing treatment - but they say we need ICSI due to male factors. Which is what one NHS dr told us also, but the man in charge obviously didn't want to treat us - know that is not hte case for everyone, as another person under same dr got tested in 6mths, clomid and now IUI!!

Roastie - if NHS will treat you, might be worth continuing with them, and save money for private later if you need treatment again - unless you would rather go private. After clomid the usual progression is up to 3 cycles of IUI, then IVF.

PinkCustard · 17/01/2011 16:50

Yes Keziah I would too (although it would be nice to opt out if possible) Smile

Have been driving myself mad today as am 9dpo, AF due anytime from Thursday...I so want to be preg now, but I get like this every month just before AF due. And One Born Every Minute is on tonight aswell - there's no hope of me putting it from my mind for the next few days!!

Keziahhopes · 17/01/2011 17:10

Pink - one episode of one born every minute made me realise that although I can babysit (in fact that is my main form of social activity thesedays sadly) that is one program I cannot cope with!!

But - yes opting out a good idea Grin

Lychees · 17/01/2011 17:43

Boba, great that first scan went okay. Good luck for the next one.

StormBird · 17/01/2011 19:17

So glad the Scan went well Boba . Fingers crossed everything goes smoothly Smile

Good luck to anyone on the 2WW xxx

Ilovekittyelise · 17/01/2011 19:27

Hey guys

Hope everyone is well; theres an air of anticipation on here with so many of the 2ww and a few recent BFPs. I hope we get some more.

Well, nothing really to report here; got a scan on wednesday which should be about 6+4. on one hand i feel like everything is ok but on the other im terrified of an empty sac. if the size of my udders and my appetite are any kind of indicator i would feel very confident indeed.

boba awesome news. could they see heartbeat or was it too soon?

Liz xxx

essenceofSES · 17/01/2011 21:21

Boba - great news! So pleased for you :)

Kitty - hope all goes well for your scan. Symptoms sound good!

Hello Storm, Lychees, PinkCustard, Keziah and anyone else around.

We're all set for a week of SWI :) As usual we both have work shifts with very bad timing but CD10 today and should manage CD11 and CD15 as a minimum. I usually ovulate around CD16 but could be anything from CD14 to CD19 so fingers crossed!

Keziahhopes · 17/01/2011 23:19

glad scan went well Boba and hope yours goes well IloveKitty

all the best for SWI Ses....

Ilovekittyelise · 18/01/2011 08:08

this is awful (yet will probably make many of you jealous!) but we havent done it once since positive pregnancy test. LOL to think it used to be FUN!!!

PinkCustard · 18/01/2011 08:18

Kitty I was thinking the other day how nice it would be to go back to sex for the fun of it without quietly thinking whether it's the right time etc. You probably just OD-ed on it and will get your mojo back soon Wink

Good luck with SWI SES hope you manage to fit it in round tricky work patterns.

So did anyone else watch One Born Every Minute last night? I thought it was a lovely episode, and as DH wandered off when it was on I was able to shed a little tear at the lovely lady in the birthing pool without being mocked. They all seemed like nice couples last night though (unlike on previous episodes!) and ofcourse it made me long for my turn (even though the noise of the gas&air did bring back a flash of horror Grin)

TinaO99 · 18/01/2011 10:34

hi Lychees and anytime, thanks for your welcome

can I be added to the stats do you think if possible?

am now on day 9 of my second month of using the monitor, have tested high for the last 2 days so looks as though i may ovulate earlier than I thought! If you need any more info let me know - still not sure what all he abbreviations mean!

good luck to all and hoping I'm a graduate too soon :-)

Tina

Clockspotter · 18/01/2011 13:32

Hi everyone,

Feeling in the swing of things now as on CD12 and becoming quite an expert at hitting the stick!!

Had 2 highs and anticipating a peak round the end of the week (altho' I've seen this doesnt always happen in the first month) but blooming DP under all sorts of work pressure at the minute and the will he/wont he pull it out of the bag (lol) and perform on the night or nights is killing me! Honestly, I hate relying on other people at the best of times!!

Feeling spurred on at all the BFP's that are going on on here and I hope its catching, good luck to all on the 2ww!

Lychees · 18/01/2011 20:08

Tina, if you would like to be added in the stats, this is what the abbreviations mean:

TTC#.... = which number child you are trying for

Cycle #.... = the total number of cycles you have been ttc

UCL = Usual cycle length

I think you've provided all the other bits [except your age if you want to share] so .....

Have fun SWI, Clockspotter and SES.

TBH Pink, like Keziah, I can't watch baby programmes. They still make me sad like RL pregnancy announcements.

I'm feeling a bit miserable today as work is a bit poo but I'm holding on for the maternity package ... hoping it'll not be for much longer.

Also, my colleague has been going on about how she thinks there is something wrong with her as she is still not pregnant after two months ttc and that she might go to the GP and say she's been trying for 12 months to get checked out. I have been confiding in her about our battle [obv way before she was even considering ttc]. I just never realised she could be SO insensitive. It's made me feel really alone ... lucky I have you ladies.

Keziahhopes · 18/01/2011 21:39

Lychees - grrr to your colleague lying after 2 months, that is horrible as it takes ages to wait for some tests and if people do that then people who need it get stuck for longer.
How horrible for ou with her selfishness.

chocciechip · 19/01/2011 12:44

Hi ladies,

I asked you to take my stats off the list a little while ago because I was finding it demoralising seeing the months of trying go up constantly.

Nervous announcement - we were scheduled to start IVF next month but I got a BFP on 11 Jan so it seems that might be postponed for now. So we conceived in the last possible month we could before IVF. Weird how that happens.

After my two MCs, I'm a bit ary about what's ahead of me and already think my early PG symptoms are fading so am trying to prepare myself for the possibility it might be ending again. ... so please don't add me to the grads list yet ....

HOWEVER, I wanted to post this news especially for keziah - so you know, keziah that although my dh has worse anti-sperm antibody probs than your dh (and I'm older than you etc) we managed a BFP, so you can too. We focussed on boosting his sperm count all we could to make up for the shortfall....

And for boba - I keep thinking that if by some miracle this sticks, you and I will be on a journey together after a long slog of getting to this point. Big congrats on your bfp ... by my calculations (if it sticks) you are half a week ahead of me .....

..I've still got hurdles though.

Waves to everyone else.

KnackeredCow · 19/01/2011 13:01

Congratulations Choccie That is brilliant news Grin

Choccie Do you mind me asking how long you were trying for? I am on cycle number 16 now, and have never had a BFP. I am booked in for an HSG at the end of the month, so DH and I went all out this month. Sorry if TMI Blush but we managed to SWI on all of my "high" days except the first one and the one after my peak days. We also managed both my "peak days". I normally don't bother symptom spotting as I don't expect to get a BFP. I am 6dpo but have noticed a heavy feeling around my uterus and have had a bit of cramping and a tiny bit of spotting (incy wincy bit). I have never ever had this before. I am desperately trying to not to get my hopes up as I am sure I'll be disappointed later this month Sad, but your BFP has made me think it is possible to still get pg after months of no success.

Big hello to everybody else. I'll catch up on the rest of the thread later today.
