I have read a couple of things about this and am now confused Confused .

I came off the pill 2 months ago, and have had one normal AF. my luteal phase was 10 days CL31.

Today I am CD31 10DPO. No sign of AF. Is it likely that my Phase length has altered. I read somewhere that this one always stay the same Confused , then read somewhere else that the bc might effect it???

Just wondered what you thought?

Pinkclouds - I'll be interested to see what other people's thoughts are too.

I've also read that your LP is supposed to reamin the same but mine has ranged from 10-15 days! Confused

I think it is normal to vary by a few days, but it varies much less than the follicular phase.

Well, it's not supposed to, but it most certainly can. Unfortunately, when it does, it's usually an indicator of a hormone imbalance. The pill is very good at confusing our bodies and it could just be a case of it trying to regulate itself back into it's natural pattern, which is frustrating, but shouldn't take too long.

If you aren't already charting and don't know exactly when you ovulate, it could be that your LP is consistantly the same and it's your FP that's different each month. However, if you know for a fact when you ovulate, you'll have a better idea.

After my mc, my LP ranged from between 8 to 20 days, so it was obvious something was amiss. My advice would be to keep your eye on it. If it hasn't regulated into some sort of pattern within 3-6 months, it might be worth raising it with your GP and getting a progesterone test to check all is well.

Oh and I'd second what GetDown says. A LP which changes by a couple of days each month is not something to get too concerned about. It's only when it's shorter than 10 or 11 days that it is considered problematic when trying to conceive.

Thanks for the advice. I'm not charting but have been using OPK's and getting a positive. Will see what happens this month and keep a close eye on. Smile
