Cant seem to find any info by googling so thought I would ask here Smile

I am planning on being a surrogate in the new year and currently have a coil which I want removed in the next few weeks to give my body a month to adjust, which part f my cycle do I need to be in to have it removed?

TIA

I think just after AF is recommended (can't fully remember) but my GP was happy to take mine out mid-cycle - she just said it might be more painful. Actually felt very little and it was certainly less painful than when it was put in.

I was told by people that they take it out during your period usually. One, it's easier and two, you're almost definitely not pregnant.

But the family planning clinic took mine out mid-cycle (after a smear) and were perfectly happy with that. They said if a woman is definitely not wanting to conceive they will only do it during a period as if you've had sex recently the sperm may still be able to fertilise an egg if the coil removal and ovulation coincide.

Ah yes Showaddywaddy they did tell me that I could risk pregnancy that month but in my case that was absolutely fine!
