Anyone recommend a basal temp thermometer?

Think it's time to give in and start charting! Was about to buy a thermometer from Amazon but one of the reviews said it wasn't accurate - same for the next thermometer I looked up.
So, is there a brand known to be good?
Many many thanks.

hi C:
we have the nurofen ear thermometer, bought from Lloyd's chemists for about £13.99 I think.
it has a really useful 'traffic light gauge' under the screen to advise you if your child's temp is normal, medium or high.
our doctor recommended an ear thermometer as they are the most accurate and effective.
hope that helps! Grin

A friend bought one from Boots for something like £11.99. I bought one from the poundshop. Hers broke within a month. Mine lasted for ages, all the way to pregnancy and I used it when dd was a baby to take her temp. Never had a problem with it.

As long as it has 2 decimal places it should be fine.

Thank you both. I have a digital ear thermometer for ds, never though of using it for my purposes!

Have you charted before? I found it fascinating. The Toni Weschler book is brilliant if you don't have it.

Good luck!

I got this one for four pound inc p and p and found it very accurate. I got pregnant in the second month of charting. I used fertility friend website to track BBT as it made it soooooooooooo much easier as you can also log your other 'signs' such as cervical mucus, sore boobs etc.

I used the Boots one, accurate to 2 decimal places and has always been good and reliable, had it 3 years and the battery is still going strong.

The boots one also comes with a little book that you can do your charting in too.

Ooh, lovely advice Smile
I've actually just ordered that book, haven't tried fertility friend (yet) and will be in a Boots tomorrow. Grin
Not sure if this works any better than the ovulation tests I always use. Worth a try though.
I have seen an "app" for my phone that monitors your cycle, think that's more info than I want my phone to have!
