im seeking advice.
I recently suffered my first and hopefully last mmc at 13 weeks.
I mc,d naturally three weeks ago and during that time ive had unprotectect sex with my hubby (sorry very new to this).
Im now in a dilemma, during my pregnancy it was discovered i wasnt immune to rubella and therefore was advised to get the injection once my pregnancy was over.
Now unfortunatly over, im booked into have it tomorrow but im worried i may be pregnant from my accident? And its a risk to the baby.
Any advise would be helpful. Thanks

so just back from my doctors appointment feeling a little less stressed.

until ive had my first period since my mmc they wont give me the vaccine, which has to be ordered in and authrised by the doc first as my appointment was with the nurse.

They also confirmed that its only a month and not three months i have to wait before trying to conceive once ive had the vaccine, which is better news as i didnt want to have to wait 3-6 months before conceiing again.

so wish me luck. x

I do wish you luck rachk32

Please though, don't take this the wrong way but ere on the side of caution with this vaccine.
Take these thoughts on board -

You realise they will give you a full 3in1 vaccine MMR as just rubella is not available on NHS. Mumps, Measles and Rubella.

They will say there is "no evidence to suggest" as there hasn't been full trials on their safety in these circumstances.

Yes lots of babies will have been fine, but what if the baby got to 1 yrs old and there was developmental problems of any kind - they are not going to agree it may have been that vaccine - you can't prove it and they can't afford it.

Catching Rubella is only dangerous to the baby in the first 4 months (roughly) (google it for exact number of weeks).

It's winter, German measles used to generally circulate (if at all) In Spring, Summer and autumn but not winter. If you fall pregnant between now and December you are safe.

Google the full contents of this vaccine, vaccines tend to have everything from animal genes to alluminium in them.

Do you think it is so imperative to have this vaccine?

By the way, I have no immunity to rubella either and have had 2 children.

My cousin was paralysed and blind following a rubella vaccine at 16. They are not always as safe as we are led to believe and I certainly would think twice about putting that through your body if a new baby is about to grow in there.

This is a great time of year for you to fall safely pg without worrying about the dangers of german measles in early pg.

Good luck. x

wow, thanks for the advise, tbh i was in two minds to have it as ive also done lots of research on it and a few things came up that i wasnt sure on bit i wasnt aware of all the things youve just stated.
My husband doesnt want me to have it, he thinks that everything happens for a reason, and its gods way.
Im 33 this year and cant afford any risks or any more time waiting around, espec after the terrible mmc ive just been through. Thanks again. X

Oh my God, this is the most shockingly irresponsible advice I've seen in a LONG time. Are you a healthcare professional, sneakapeak? If not, I really don't see that you ought to be attempting to dish out healthcare advice. Please talk to your doctors rach and not to people on forums if you want considered medical advice. Call NHS direct if you want instant reassurance from someone who has a clinical education and the right information at their fingertips.
The only "links" between MMR and ill health reported have been thoroughly discredited and the charlatan who presented his results struck off.
The risk of being exposed to rubella in the UK is now higher than it has been in 50 years, as a direct result of people electing not to vaccinate their children. Children have died in the UK as a result of measles infection following not being vaccinated. In the USA, children are simply not allowed into schools if they have not been vaccinated with MMR. Don't forget that were you to get infected (and either were past 20 wks or not pg) you could infect other women in their first trimester too.
I recognise that your MC has left you feeling very vulnerable, and empathise with this, but don't take chances you don't need to with your potential child's future. One month is a short time to wait to help your health and potentially that of others.

thanks jamama, went back to see my doctor yesterday as i only saw the nurse monday, he strongly advised me to have the mmr asap. I ran through all my concerns and he reassured me the risks for the potential baby and other pg women far exceed those ive read about.
He advise me to try again after xmas by then i neally 2 months would have passed.
Believe it or not i was in asda earlier and a little boy had mumps!!! That was all the reassurance i needed. Thanks for the frank advise, i agree iam a little vunrable at the moment and open to all advise, good or bad. X
