Has anyone read Inconceivable: A Woman's Triumph Over Despair and Statistics by Julia Indichova and has anyone tried any of her methods? I am curious, have read the book. Not a yoga fan (know nothing about it), would miss my meat pies and chocolate but curious to know if anyone has gone veggie/started taking herbal stuff or got into yoga and had a pregnancy as a result. I post on a couple of the conception threads but keen to ask anyone who has tried these type of approaches and had success.

Anyone already on those threads who has read the book and has any views, most welcome to post as well of course.

Thanks Grin

I haven't read the book, but I am veggie, take herbal stuff, took up yoga and reflexology (and now acupuncture in place of reflexology) and am still not PG after nearly a year of trying, so all these things don't seem to be a quick fix. That said, I don't think that they do any harm either. Eating healthily, keeping stress levels down etc are all known factors in helping the body to be the best it can be, so all worth a try Smile. I will certainly keep it all up in my quest. Good luck.

Forgot to say, I've also stopped drinking alcohol and caffeine (since Feb this year), so am currently living like a saint. It's boring and tedious at times, but I don't feel I can not do it now that I've started (if that makes sense!!). A part of me wonders if we're just trying TOO hard, and that if I ate what I like, drank what I liked etc, then it would happen. Problem is that I would kick myself if I didn't follow the stereotypical, 'I gave up all hope, got hammered, ate crap' and magically got PG' line so will stay saint like until I win my two lines I think.

Hi italian. I also read this book and all the way through I kept hoping there was gonna be a quick fix. I knew from the back of the book that she was going to have another baby and my sister kept telling me to skip to the bit where she gets pregnant.

I was quite horrified to discover that there was no quick fix and it actually took hard work, determination and will power Shock

I really don't know if living like that would make the difference but I do think it is worth trying a modified version. I know I would never be able to drink wheatgrass every day etc.

It does make me mad when i see women hanging around the shops with numerous babies and I know that they drink, smoke and eat macdonalds - where was their effort and will power? Grin

Anyway, i loved the book. I thought she wrote well and i may be tempted to try being a bit more healthy.

As you probably know from the over 40's thread, I got pregnant very easily with my first 2 children and it's only now that i'm in my 40's that i'm having trouble getting a decent embryo (1 MMC and 1 MC this year). So there is a bit of me that thinks, "Oh sod it, i never needed all that healthy stuff before!"

But I must admit that she makes a compelling argument for healthy living.

xxx

Whenisitmyturn Thanks for replying and all the very best with your attempt.

hippychick66 Thanks for popping on to give your support. Yes, it is annoying when the smoking, drinking and junk food brigade get pregnant and the veggie healthy ones don't. I think I am half way between the two camps!
