Gosh am sorry to hear this and very sorry you found out in such a surprise way. Did you not have any other symptoms. Dont know much about it myself. Do you have a very irregular cycle?

I am aware of a number of other posters on here with PCOS and hope they will have some words of wisdom for you.

she changed her diet a little and irc she was prescribed the combination pill.

although she did have a misscariage previously.that whilst she was having d&c it was descoverd that there was a large mass of fertilised eggs that had made it to her womb but had not grow any further.

think this combined with not having had a full period for like a year previous. is how it was first discoverd.

sorry im rambling. anyway so after lifestyle changes and combination pill she went on to have my Dn.

hope that makes sense. x

gina

I have PCOS and am a parent. I also had a lot of cystic follicles on both ovaries.

Its about par for the course for someone with PCOS. Multiple cystic follicles (they are not cysts in the usual sense) are the commonality for all with PCOS although it is a very individualistic disorder and affects each woman with it very differently.

What blood tests were done; if these did come back "ok" I would have thought they have missed something. Normally with PCOS there is an imbalance of LH to FSH.

Also the polycystic ovary is often larger than normal (walnut) size.

www.verity-pcos.org.uk may be a helpful website for you to look at.

hi
yes fluffy lol it does make sense a change in lifestyle i think thats what i need to do as iam about 3 stone over weight, but i find it hard to stick to a diet but after having this news i will be more determind to lose weight but will start after my holiday.

meerkat i think i have spoken to you before where you on the cbfm form?

yeah all bloods came back normal but i cant remember what they said was tested for the pcos...i do know that i had low progestron and an other sex hormone was low but doc said not that low and not to worry about it.they did refer me to clinic and i have to go on the 25th october

If you had low progesterone the blood work did not actually come back as normal. A result of less than 30 would have meant that ovulation did not occur.

Good luck with your appt on the 25/10, at least you have now been referred.

Hello! Sorry you have had a shock. I have PCOS and it has been managed pretty well with medication and I also managed to conceive naturally.
Take a look at the Verity website for support.
Diet wise, low carb/sugar is the way forward. You can still eat plenty though.
Good luck with your appt, there are plenty of people on here who have PCOS and can give you support.
