I have been dutifully SWI every 2nd day or so throughout the mont, but RELIGIOUSLY once the opk smiley face appears. A day before, on the day and at least one to two days in a row following it. Result: nada! So, step forward, be Frank and share your experiences. I have a regular 28 day cycle and ovulate on day13/14. Thanks

Tell me where I'm going wrong please. I've already spent a small fortune on them, as they are the clearable Digi ones. Are there any better ones than these on the Market? Off the shelf please, I'm too impatient to order off the Internet! Also is there anything more I can do to aid fertility: I know the 64,000 dollar question! Help!

I use the internet cheapie OPKs, this is my third cycle with them. Not pg yet, but I wouldn't be without them as my cycles seem to flip randomly between 26 days long and over 30 and I don't get any ovulation symptoms that are un-subtle enough. No EWCM etc. I sometimes get ov pains but if I was watching out for ov symtoms only I would be imagining them left right and centre as I do pg symptoms!

If your cycles are as regular as you think, I would say they are of less help, and just add to the stress of it all.

I think they work but in order not to spend a fortune you need to use other methods to help you "narrow down" the window, then test like mad. I check cervix and start testing twice a day when it feels softer.

I recently got a positive in the morning, negative in the afternoon, but according to my temperature shift and the arrival of EWCM I didnt ovulate until three days after that positive.(I am very stressed, I think this delayed ovulation) Basically I think you have to combine all the methods and use all the information to cross check against each other.

fedupnosuccess I think you get excellent (free) info from www.fertilityfriend.com (sign up for the tutorials) and more expensive equally excellent info from the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility (dont bother to buy the software, its the same as FF.com, which is free)

Raven and mummyabroad: thanks for your advice. This was my case in point for asking the question in the first place: there are lots of ladies like ourselves who are ttc with the opks. But the crux is: has anyone actually achieved a successful pregnancy with them? I don't use too many, I only use approx 4 every month as my cycles are so regular. However, sometimes I suspect it may be telling me AFTER I have ovulated not before. Don't worry, I am the master of the conspiracy theory! I think we have covered all bases DTD wise, why is this ttc malarkey so hard? Answers on a postcard please!

If you get a positive OPK AFTER ovulation you are pregnant Grin

I havent had "success" in those terms, my DS was conceived super easily and accidentally, with just one unprotected shag. Wish it were that easy this time around!

take care xxx
