Has anyone used either and what are the opinions? I need to buy some lube that won't affect ttc. If anyone knows anything about it I'd love to hear about it. About to head out now but will check back a bit later.

I have used Pre-Seed on the advice of a friend who's Fertility Consulant recommended it. I haven't used Conceive though.

It's not very glamourous to apply (you have to use an applicator), but it initially made SWI more comfortable as my bits had been getting a bit sore.

The only thing, and I don't know if anybody else has found this, the first time I used it I got thrush the next day which did require treatment. I don't know if this was complete coincidence or not, or whether it upset my natural PH.

I have tried it since and most times been fine. One time I was a bit uncomfortable the next day but it cleared up.

I am still not pg so it hasn't worked thus far.

DH and I plan to try it for one more month and if I still don't get on with it, we're going to switch.

I haven't used Pre seed but have used conceiive plus and liked it. It's a bit gooy to apply (no applicator - just a squirty tube) but can be quite fun iyswuim. I found it really helped the comfort levels. Got pg first month with it too, but sadly just had MC.

Where do you buy them from?

Wombat33 · 14/09/2010 11:34

You can get conceive plus in boots (the big stores anyway). They're stocked with the OPKs and HPTs in my local store (at liverpool St station in london) not with the other lubricants.

Pre-seed I think you have to get online but I'm not sure.

KnackeredCow · 14/09/2010 11:39

I bought Pre-Seed from amazon.co.uk. It was about £14 for 9 applications - not cheap sadly Sad

Amazon sell Conceive as well and it costs about £10.

ljg72 · 14/09/2010 11:40

I,ve tried Preseed, and It gave me cystitis type symptoms, also dp said it took away sensation from his bits!!! and made him feel numb!Hmm, so won't be giving it another shot! lol.

Some people swear by it tho...? good luck!

(Amazon sell it)

Thanks for such a swift response ladies. Never tried these products before, may give them a whirl next month, as heard such positive stories about them. Also sex can sometimes become quite mechanical and sore: especially when you're doing it for an end purpose. If this makes it comfortable I say bring it on. I'll pop into my nearest large Boots, as it's easier to get it off the shelf! Thanks again.

NinjaChipmunk · 14/09/2010 11:59

wombat very sorry for your loss but good to hear a positive response iykwim?

and good to hear its fun to use. it was all getting a bit mechanical here if you get my drift and to add a little fun to it may help take the pressure off. i shall be popping in to my nearest big Boots today i think. sounds like pressed seems to upset peoples ph levels a bit? i may steer clear of that one to begin with.

i got my af yesterday (5th month of ttc no 2) and it was the same day a very good friend gave birth. whilst i'm chuffed to bits for her i still came home and cried. i felt so sad and all the fun of sex seems to have disappeared so aiming to relax a bit and hopefully this will help.

thanks again ladies.

Big hugs Nina I hope you get your little bundle soon! And have fun in the meantime Wink

Headbanger · 14/09/2010 12:09

I've used conceive plus for the first time this cycle (too early to tell if it was successful!) and loved it, and so did the OM... It did leave a chalky residue on my bedside table, but I suppose that just proves it actually DOES contain calcium, as the label promises!

ljg72 · 14/09/2010 12:35

So sorry Wombat It's such a horrible thing to go through as I know.
Sending hugs xx

Wombat33 · 14/09/2010 13:08

Thanks ljg72 and I'm sorry to see from your other thread that you're having a difficult time too. Fingers crossed for next month for both of us!

MummyAbroad · 14/09/2010 18:36

Hiya,

I have used Preseed, I completely ignored the applicators and just used it like normal lube. I read that the advertisers claims that it HELPS you conceive arent really reliable but it has been proven in studies in petri dishes not to harm sperm like some other lubes. Therefore I thought the whole applicator thing just a bit of a con to get you to use more and definitely a passion killer!

The one downside I found is that after about 2 mins the consistency changes from nice and jellylike to horribly sticky!! We used it for a bit of fun a couple of times and have now stopped as the icky stickyness was just too much of a turn off.

I would like to know if Conceive gets sticky too?

Wombat33 · 14/09/2010 18:40

Hi MummyA, in my experience Conceive doesn't get sticky, but the lubricting effect does lessen after a while. Without wanting to be too graphic, if we need a bit more we just take a pause and top up Blush

MummyAbroad · 14/09/2010 18:49

good to know. Smile
