abnormal basal temperatures

I've been charting my temperatures and doing opk's for about three months now. The thing is that my temps go from 95.3 degrees farenheit to a peak of 97.8. All of the charts online are much higher...am I seriously abnormal?

sayitwithsam - Do you see a clear temperature shift, so that there are two clear phases on your chart indicating ovulation? If so, I think I read that the actual temperatures are not that important as long as you are ovulating and your lp is long enough. Others more knowledgeable will no doubt be along soon.

My temps were always lower than others online, mainly in the 36s, never up to 37.

The important thing, as coconutfeet says, it that you see a clear shift, the actual temps aren't too important at all, as long as it's normal for you. Same reason why you should use the same method all the time and not swap and change, if you're doing it orally it will be lower than if you were doing it anally or vaginally. As long as you're consistent in your temp taking, the actual numbers are almost irrelevant.

Hope that's helpful, I know others on here are a lot more knowledgeable about charting etc than I am, even though I did it for ages!

Ok that's good thanks. Yes there's a definite spike each month and I do take it orally so that makes sense. They were all over the place for the first month after losing my baby was all over the place (unsurprisingly) and now the charts are starting to look similar each month.
Thanks for your help. Hopefully it will be good news soon.

Glad to help, lots of luck to you

Not to worry you but if you have a consistently low BBT it may be worth getting your thryoid checked out as low BBT is a symptom of hypothyroidism.

Depends if you have any other symptoms - feeling cold, feeling tired a lot, brain fog, hoarse voice, tendency to gain weight easily.

Being hypo can be a factor in not conceiving and is easily sorted if it is a problem so worth checking out.

I'll mention it to my GP when I see her next but I don't have those symptoms. I bloat out a lot but that's only when I have an IBS attack and it goes back down within a few days.
