I won and entered once too. I'm on Twitter and have been on a break from mn but I'm starting to wean back in slowly.

Most of those winners are names that are familiar to me - or at least look like normal MNetter names. There will always be a few who troll for comps, but then it is part of the reason MN do the competitions, I guess. To tempt new members onto the site.

I made multiple entries for the sainsburys and the flowers. I didn't win. I must have entered 10 times, not loads though.

How do people find the time to enter more than once? You must be more organised than me is all I can say.

Oh please tell me that the NY trip was won by a regular(ish) poster.

I confess I entered that one more than once. Not that it did the blindest bit of good .

well I first joined MN in 2002 (or around that time) - yes for the comps.

I didn't even know the talk board existed. I was an addicted comper.

At the end of 2004 I got booted off another parenting website and sort refuge here on the talk boards..............and I've been here ever since

thing is though how do you define a "genuine" Mner.

As I said I intially came here only for the compeitions. Then found talk.

However there's a lot more to mumsnet than the talk boards. Therefore it's quite concievable that someone gets the parenting updates, looks at the swathes of information around the site that doesn't include Talk......are they not a genuine MNer because they don't post?

What of those of us who ONLY post on the forum and do the competitions when we see them posted about but don't use the rest of the site??

A fair point. At the very least they could lurk a lot on the boards and just not post.

And as you say, they could just be a reader of all of the parenting info.

At the end of the day, I don't suppose it matters one bit.

The main point was.......it wasn't me!
