OliviaMumsnet · 24/10/2007 23:35

Here at MNHQ, we hear your pleas and respond to them.

We know how you all love to get in the "spirit" of things with your festive name changes, so we're giving you an opportunity to show them off in the Mumsnet Halloween Name Competition.

Please sign in here with your Halloween name change.

MNHQ will make a shortlist of our favourites at the weekend, and then there will be a Mumsnet poll on which everyone can vote. The winner will be announced on the 31st October.

Please note: the judge's decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
GOOD LUCK
MNHQ

...candles gutter in the draught...dripping wax down the black candelabrum...swirly puddles and heaps of candlewax on the floor...

Raebees · 26/10/2007 09:34

if any of you say that changing MaeBee to Raebees (rabies) is lame, i'll bite the other leg...

Raebees · 26/10/2007 09:36

oh and does this mean i've entered?
can get to manchester for £4.50 on the coach from leeds, is it just a trip to manc, or are there any more details about it!?

ViolentBowedandScared · 26/10/2007 09:43

I am VioletBaudelaire.
In my aggressive, ill-treated, hunchbacked manservant Halloween guise!

OnlySlightlyScary · 26/10/2007 09:48

Lacking inspiration...I still like ThreadyKreuger too

OliviaMumsnet · 26/10/2007 11:02

I forgot to tell you about the prize! It is indeed a trip to Manchester, but lest we forget, this is more a matter of honour and glory than the actual prize (think Mastermind).

Nevertheless it's a fab weekend break and details of the prize are here.

Keep em coming and good luck!

erm somehow I don't think that you're going to pay for a weekend in Manchester for me...

so it's a good thing for you that my name is shit

omeN666 · 26/10/2007 11:11

what if you have 3 childrenAlthough could hide dd2 in a bag

JaamityvilleHorror · 26/10/2007 11:40

OMG - the prize involves shopping...might have to withdraw my name. Far too dangerous!
However, Salford Quays IS one of those places I've never been to, even though it's just up the road.

[dashes off to find Halloween-type inspiration]

MaryAnnSingletomb · 26/10/2007 11:45

is that the prize - a trip to Manchester ? where does it say that ?

JaamityvilleHorror · 26/10/2007 11:49

MrScarRot · 26/10/2007 11:58

I haven't changed any letter but it looks so different! Looked better with a hyphen though. MrsCarrot

JaamityvilleHorror · 26/10/2007 12:03

Very clever Mrscarrot!

MrScarRot · 26/10/2007 12:06

Thank-you, JV, yours isn't bad either - though I hated that book with the piggy eyes.

omeN666 · 26/10/2007 12:14

TrickORTripletEm · 26/10/2007 12:36

Travel is not my thing with triplets!!!!

JustscreamMumsnet · 26/10/2007 12:37

Did we perchance mention that we think by far the wittiest names are those chosen by folk who've filled in our survey?

dolalloween · 26/10/2007 12:41

this is dolally's pathetic attempt

MrScarRot · 26/10/2007 12:43

is that the same one as the haiku survey - do we do it again?

TrickORTripletEm · 26/10/2007 12:45

Done!!! So what about the trophy then?

MaryAnnSingletomb · 26/10/2007 12:53

I have just done the survey

JustscreamMumsnet · 26/10/2007 12:54

You can do it more than once for different children... (Thanks!)

MrScarRot · 26/10/2007 13:00
