I have spinal stenosis and osteoarthritis throughout spine, legs also are affected and I spend 95% of the day in bed or sitting down due to pain
i had a little lump on my back a couple of days ago which I assumed was a spot so I put antiseptic cream and a plaster on overnight cleaned it in the morning and left it to air in the day then repeated but it’s now looking like this and I have no clue what it is or what to do
going to the doctor is always really hard but if I have to I obviously will
does this look like a trip to the doctors or shall I carry on with anti septic cream or something else
tha k you x x

Does your surgery have an 'ask my gp' type function where you can upload photos for their review? I'd want that looked at. Hope it's healed up soon.

Sadly not, just a standard “apply online for appointment and you’ll get one within a month” unless it’s an emergency. Didn’t think this would be much of an emergency really which is why I came here looking for a bit of advice
do you think a chemist might be able to help

Might be worth asking a chemist. Could it be a pressure sore?

You should get an appointment. In the meantime, however, order some bedsore treatment cream, and try not to put weight on the spot for long periods, e.g. when sleeping; place padding under the area and change your sleep position if possible. It could be where your scapula is pressing on the mattress (I can't quite tell from the photo). If it is a bedsore then with this treatment, it should begin to heal by the time you see your doctor, but you can then ask them for advice about what to do to avoid them in future. A chemist might be able to tell you if it is. If it doesn't start to heal, it's probably something else, and, again, you need to see a doctor. Either way, make an appointment now. And, obviously, if it gets worse rather than better, starts weeping, becomes red and inflamed, or changes colour, go to the A&E or get an emergency appointment with your GP.
