Your image is blurry, can you try another screenshot?

dee was seen at St. Anthony's Hospital today. I discussed the results of her MRI, which did not show any evidence of deep infiltrating endometriosis. However, there was a 15 mm left-sided cyst containing proteinaceous material, a small follicle in the right ovary, and a very small hydrosalpinx on the right side. The MRI of her spine revealed mild degenerative changes in the lower cervical and lumbar regions, as well as bilateral L5 nerve root impingement at the L5-S1 level.

@TinyMouseTheatre @UncertainWife FINDINGS: Normal alignment of the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine.
No acute fracture, facet joint dislocation or pars defects.
No evidence of inflammatory spondyloarthropathy.
Mild degenerative disc changes noted at C4-5 and C5-6 but there is no significant disc
herniation, exiting foraminal, lateral recess or spinal canal stenosis in the cervical or thoracic
spine.
No cord compression or myelopathy.
The visualised brain is normal.
There is degenerative disc dehydration and volume loss at L5 S1 with shallow disc protrusion
at that level causing bilateral exiting L5 nerve root impingement, slightly worse on the left.
Fatty endplate change also noted at L5 S1.
No cauda equina compromise.
No sinister bone marrow lesions, paravertebral or intrathoracic pathology.
Small amount of free fluid noted in the pelvis
CONCLUSION / RECOMMENDATION: Mild degenerative changes in the lower cervical and
lower lumbar spine as detailed above.
Bilateral exiting L5 nerve root impingement at L5 S1.

Hopefully now you have your results your GP can put you on the right path to get better.

I'm also suffering back and leg pain and am currently waiting for the results of my MRI.

Deedoo · 31/12/2024 17:01

@UncertainWife do you have nerve compression or you don't know?

OP posts:
UncertainWife · 31/12/2024 17:12

I don't know, but suspect I do, though the pain down legs and in back isn't there non stop, just on some days and/or when I move in some ways, so not sure if they will find it on the MRI or not

UncertainWife · 26/01/2025 15:59

@Deedoo how are you doing with your back pain? My MRI showed same as you, nerve problem at L5 - L4/5: Broad disc bulge and moderate facet joint OA with abutment of the traversing L5 nerve roots

Have you seen anyone after your MRI and what did they suggest you do to get rid of the back pain?
