Hello, about 3 years ago I had an accident where I bit a metal fork with the upper and lower front incisor tooth, since that I had pain almost all the time, the tooth was fine at the dental checkup, but with many cracks, x-rays and CT scan came out fine. During that time I had tooth pain when eating, headache, neck pain, sensation of clogged ear and sensation of throbbing in that part of the head. I took antibiotics and the pain subsided completely in a few days (this has always been rare). I had a root canal and the pain continued, I was like this for a few months, until I decided to have the root canal opened and leave the tooth open, the pain decreased a lot along with the throbbing, sometimes I did not feel any pain and so I was for a year and so I left the tooth, a month ago the pain returned and I attributed it to having left it open for a long time, I decided to give another chance to the root canal and the pain returned and increased as in the first root canal.
My symptoms are of atypical neuralgia (constant pain, throbbing, head and neck pain and sensation of clogged ear, I rarely feel discharges).
Is it normal that the antibiotic calms the pain? Does it happen the same to anyone? I was thinking of having the extraction because of the year I was without pain when I had the tooth open, does anyone have any similar experience or advice? I am afraid that when the tooth is extracted the "neuralgia pain" will increase.
