Have been diagnosed with osteoarthritis of both of my thumbs joints. I also have pain in other areas such as hands/ fingers) arms/wrists and toes but tests are negative. Went to open door and had searing pain in top side of thumb where I touched the door. Is this normal? Anyone had similar? Is this part and parcel if getting old?

Aye. It comes and goes. My joints are very painful whilst they are growing but then the pain abates.

I'm riddled. RA and OA. Had 3 replacements and I am on the list for more.

I struggle every day. Doing anything. I broke down last night getting undressed. 😪

How old are you OP?
My mum has inflammatory arthritis and gets pain in her fingers. She lives abroad and sees a rhematologist who prescribes both hydroxychloroquine and meloxicam. Mum recently had an operation and needed to stop these pre-op, and she really noticed the difference in stiffness and pain.
My MIL, in England, has very similar osteo symptoms. Her GP won't refer her nor advise any meds other than paracetamol!
GP back to your GP and ask for a referral if possible. Do you wear a brace to support your thumb?

Oh. That sounds so frustrating for you. I'm thinking if ( hopefully not when) mine gets that bad, I'll look into velcro clothes and aids for putting on shoes and socks. Could you look into those do you think?

Thanks OP. I have easy clothes. Hardly anything with buttons or tight or over the head. Good job oversized is 'in'. Most of my shoes are pull on.

I'm only 33. It's shite.

Another thought. If hands too sore to do bra and arms to sore / weak to put pull over bra on - is there an alternative for those of us that are slightly larger in that area
