Is this normal? Any health professionals on here?

So I’ve suffered with back pain for years but it’s got worse recently and I’ve finally had a scan, seen physio and a dr and I’m seeing a spinal team next month to discuss results but I had a letter saying this, is there anyone who can help me decipher what it means please? I’m so confused by the language and unsure if it’s medical language for normal!

‘congenital scoliosis, marked kyphoscoliosis, accentuated thoracic kyphosis, lumbar lordosis, scoliosis concave to the right in the thoracic spine with accompanying right rotation and concave to the left and left rotation in the lower back’

(I also have sciatica and 2 herniated discs and I do know what that means)
almost impossible to get an appointment at my surgery with my GP so I know I need to wait to see the spinal team but I thought I’d ask in the meantime just on the off chance anyone may know! Fed up of living in pain every day and not sure if what’s been written in my letter is even the cause?!

thank you in advance for any replies

Hi, sounds like this must be so painful. I have ongoing serious health problems and understand the frustration, feeling of never being taken seriously, inevitably of it all.

I don't know anything much about your problems but congenital means you were born with it.

Looking things up accentuated thoracic kyphosis means your spine is curving forwards, the other things all mean similar things in that they're to do with the curvature of your spine.

I would definitely say that you would be experiencing severe pain from these. Did they say they may operate?

Scoliosis and kyphoscoliosis refer to curvature of the spine. I am not a doctor but would guess the whole paragraph is about those different areas of curvature.

To be really crude - your spine is bent and twisted. I think you knew this though? The report is just describing where the bends and twists are.

The spinal team will have more info and advice.
