Deep Gluteal Syndrome

I've had buttock pain and radiating pain down my leg for well over a year now. Eventually got to see a physio who diagnosed deep gluteal syndrome. I've been sent off with exercises that though I'm doing religiously don't seem to help.

It's worse at night and when lying down it's only relieved a little once I'm on my feet. I've tried regular paracetamol and Naproxen (prescribed by the GP) and that's made no difference. Any ideas how to find any longer term relief?

I think I have something similar, since around Christmas, although I haven't been told it's deep gluteal syndrome. I haven't really been given any clear diagnosis.
I have done a round of physio and currently seeing an osteopath. I have had an MRI on my lower back. Nothing apparently seriously wrong there although there is some bulging and protruding of discs.
The pain moves around a bit from lower back to glutes, to hips and upper leg. It's quite frustrating as I am really trying to do all the exercises I've been told, but I am not that much better. Sometimes I have very little pain, and sometimes it's bothering me all day long, and I have no idea why.
I don't find painkillers particularly helpful.

I don't get any back pain at all but like you there's no real pattern or triggers to the level of pain or discomfort. Sports massage helps the most - for about 48 hours 🤷‍♀️

Yesterday an osteopath thought it might be partially related to stress - keeping muscles tight causing the issue. Trying to remember to consciously keep muscles relaxed now - happy to try anything tbh

My osteopath is advising me about the way I stand and walk. Stand straighter - equal weight on both feet and not with feet pointing out at an angle. And walking straight with a strong heel strike.
He says this will be better for my glutes. (It hasn't worked yet but it's quite a difficult thing to change.
Do you sit a lot? I think that's my main problem.

I probably sit more than I should - and for work can end up in the same sitting position for some time. There's a big psychological component for me - if I'm distracted it gets much easier.
