Chronic pain

Fibromyalgia and internal tremors

Does anyone else suffer bouts of internal tremors alongside fibromyalgia? I have had two bouts of it now. I saw my GP the first time it happened and he was mystified, couldn't find anything wrong with my heart, but did increase my thyroid meds. I've been fine until this weekend when I had another bout and a sleepless night last night. I had some palpitations and then it moved into my stomach and I had a bit of an upset stomach. Feeling a bit better atm but don't know if it will return.

I had an eye operation a month ago and since then the fibro has been relentless, attacking one area after another, with hip and gluteal pain, making walking or sitting for any length of time uncomfortable.

I used to get a lot of palpitations with fibro, as well as feeling like there was fireworks going off in my ribs. It can be quite frightening but I thankfully didn’t have any heart trouble.

I have since discovered my fibro was due to Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO) and since treatment have had no fibro symptoms. It’s really worth looking into it online and seeing if it fits your symptoms. It’s very treatable if so, and there is growing research that this is fibro.

I think some of the symptoms I had were due to specific vitamin deficiencies, on top of the symptoms of the bacteria. My guess , fwiw, is these additional sensations you are having just now are due to vitamin deficiency,

Internal vibrations are a symptom of pernicious anaemia.

I know there is perceived thought that fibro is a collection of neuro symptoms also indicative of pernicious anaemia.

Make sure you get B12, folate, ferritin, fbc and thyroid tested.

I get internal tremors with fibro if I've overdone it. I thought it was a fairly common symptom. I'm sure lots of others on the Facebook fibro group get them too. You just need to rest I'd say.

Some replies - thank you Smile That's interesting @YNK - I remember my grandmother had pernicious anaemia, so maybe that's worth investigating.

I've never really felt that GPs have taken my symptoms seriously. After one really serious prolonged bout of palpitations a few years ago my GP told me it was all in my head and I needed to breathe into a paper bag. FFS it wasn't caused by anxiety but the palpitations were giving me anxiety. Another GP just shrugged and said come back if they get worse. I've only ever been offered anxiety meds for fibro and have turned them down, because of the side effects they told me about.

This time I'll make an appointment and go armed with suggested tests needed. Flowers

I had put it down to my body going into a kind of shock after my eye operation, but this has been going on too long now.

I get all kinds of weird stuff that comes in fits and starts. Some are very temporary and some last longer

For the most part I’ve accepted that it’ll come and then go so try and just deal with it as best I can, sleep being the best thing to get rid of it if it’s really crap

Definitely worth getting bloods checked if you haven’t already especially vitamin d
