Storing food outside over Christmas

Not enough space in the fridge - if I left veggies/fruit/salad and wine and beers etc (no meat or anything) in cardboard boxes in the outhouse/shed, would they freeze overnight or would they be OK?

I know MIL leaves stuff in the boot of her car over Christmas but I was never sure if that was just one of her endearing idiosyncrasies.

in this weather im sure it will be fine.

if weather is going to be minus lots it might be slightly warmer (but still less a 5c fridge) in the car boot!

I think they'd probably be okay. Although it is so cold, there might be a freezing risk.

I've got 2 boxes of fruit and veg in the conservatory. It's about the same temperature as the fridge!

I leave stuff out in my garage - yesterday gave DH a beer that hadnt been in the fridge, just sat in the garage and he said "jesus thats cold" - so I reckon current temperatures are perfect for leaving stuff outside!

BIL lines beer bottles/cans, wine, pop up alongside the back door over Christmas.

DH has some beer in the garage. It is nice and cold.
I doubt they would freeze unless it goes down to about -18 overnight, and stays that cold.

Same as LOTF we put all the bottles outside next to the back door for easy access. Fruit and veg goes in shed.

We usually put beers, white wine outside next to the back door. One year we had to put the Turkey outside as our fridge was full - stuck it in a plastic box with a few bricks on the top to stop foxes and it was fine.
