Furreal cat/kitten

Hi, my DD asked Santa for a pretend cat. She is nearly 3.5. Would one of these Fur real things be suitable. If so where should I buy one? Amazon are sold out. (a low end one just in case she doesn't like it!)

Thanks

Theo, my dd has the Furreal one - but was more expensive than the one LIZS linked to - my mum bought it and it was about £40 iirc. A HUGE waste of money....dd absolutely loved one that came from ELC, or maybe it was Woolies? But it only cost about £10, and was just a cat, with 2 little kittens, and was in a chunky plastic carry case. I think the carry case was what she loved most about it tbh! Also, the furreal ones aren't nice and cuddly.

DD1 has the Furreal cat. Hasnt been played with much after the first day tbh. Personally I think its very mechanical and not very cuddly.

What she does love is her little cat in a cage that we got from Tesco that came with a little brush and stuff. Were called Poochy Pets. Think it was only about £8 and she still plays with it 2 years later!

We also got her twin friends one each for their 4th birthdays and apparently they are a big hit at their house too.

Fwiw, we have the pup and pony as well as the cat. Seems to be a rolling theme that they arent very cuddly and get annoying.

That horrid mechanical noise they make when they move literally sets my teeth on edge.

my dd's furreal dog (last christmas) wasn't played with at the time. but she rediscovered it recently and it's been flavour of the month for ages now. we've definitely had our money's worth. and yes, it's annoying.

dd2 is getting the furreal cat for christmas (she has been obsessed with it for months- lulu mummy, i want lulu) i think she will adore it as she loves cats, and she has seen it in the flesh (so to speak) and thought it was marvellous, so it will be fine. not easy to find atm though, we got ours end of oct, and even then lots of places were out of stock!

Theochris · 17/12/2009 21:32

Thanks for all your replies.

I will try to check out the one in the plastic carry case, that sounds exactly what she might like. If not I'll prob try to get the cheapest furreal one from Argos so if it is un-played with at least it didn't cost the earth.

Thanks again,

PS I always thought that I would love Christmas shopping for my kids, but I can even make that stressful!
