PIL and BIL are coming over on Boxing Day. We are going to them on Christmas day and MIL will be doing roast turkey. I was going to do another roast and then decided I preferred a buffet type thing with lots of dishes (I love cooking.) Just asked DH what he thinks and he is saying a roast would be easier (he is right in some ways) but I am happy cooking. He would chose a roast, I want to do a buffet, the kids love roast but east anything. WWYO?

I want to cook though.

Am thinking of doing tiny jackets for warm food.

How about a salmon, some lovely nibbly things (you could cook some, some lovely recipes on BBC Good Food and all these "xxx's Christmas" type programmes), pate, cheese, cold meats and crusty bread.

Do love a buffet type spread on Boxing Day.

I am definitely doing prawn pate as I did that before and MIL loved it. I will do home made potato salad, mini sausages, salad, make some different breads, italian meats and nice cheeses.

Going to go through my recipe books now.

Yum!
Sounds Fab

I love Christmas Dinner, but I do prefer Boxing Day buffet.

I did big christmas last year and on boxing day did cold meats including turkey and ham.

Also made coleslaw, sausage rolls, pickled onions, chutney, baked potatoes and did Delia's sticky toffee puddings.

Then had delicious cheeses and quince paste I'd made.

You could also do a nice soup to start.

I have bought some chestnut puree but haven't decided what I am doing with it yet.

And if you are making the above - invite me
