She's read Twilight etc, the Ingo series ... what next for my 11 year old book-mad dd?

I'm on Amazon right now doing my Christmas shopping. DD is eleven and a brilliant reader. It's her big thing.

Can you suggest what she might like to read?

Much appreciated.

Malorie Blackman Noughts and Crosses series

My DD is now reading the Just William books, she's 11 and has read twilight Inkheart etc. They were cheap on Redhouse.

My dd is 14 but has loved HOLES and SMALL STEPS by Louis Sachar (sp?)

BexieID · 09/12/2009 19:40

The Black Magicians Trilogy by Trudi Canavan.

Has she read His Dark Materials?

Oh, and the Tales Of The Otori by Lian Hearn are good.

CybilLiberty · 09/12/2009 19:40

I'm assuming she's read all the Harry Potters

Dark is Rising sequence by Susan Cooper - old but wonderful

Eva Ibbotson's older books - The Secret Countess etc - Red House have a set of five for £10.99 - absolute bargain. My 12-yr-old, who also loves Ingo, Inkheart etc, loves them. They really are a must read.
The Louise Rennison books are very funny, if you don't mind her reading about boyfriends, snogging etc.
On the more oldfashioned side, my DD adores the Anne of Green Gables series. You could even start with the prequel, Before Green Gables, which was published last year and is, surprisingly, amazingly good.

there is a book that has just come out called 'Hush Hush' which is an angel one in the same style as twilight which she might like

also if she liked twilight, has she read 'The Host' by stephenie meyer (author of twilight saga)?? it is a must read for meyer fans i LOVED it

She could read a proper vampire book: Dracula. Or Wuthering Heights, seeing as Meyer keeps referencing it...Ok, I know these would be a bit hard for an eleven year old but she might enjoy Jane Eyre. My Swordhand Is Singing (Marcus Segewick) is another great contemporary gothic book aimed at teenagers.

Sedgewick

Fab tip about the Eva Ibbottsons on Red House Lady Glen. Have availed myself.

Some really good ideas on here. Thanks.
