I used to get toys for my DCs from woolies and a 2 local toy shops - all 3 have been victims of the recession and so now I drive to ELC and Toys R Us. Where else do you get your toys from (I do sometimes buy online, but I prefer to go somewhere and see what I am buying). My nearest supermarket is tescos and it is only a moderately sized one so their toy bit is extremely small and a bit pants. I can drive to others.

TIA!

Sadly the only toy shop near me is The Enteroverpricedtainer.
I've got most of mine from Tesco direct and Amazon this year. I have bought a few bits from Debenhams and Boots on a day trip to Manchester.
Woolies is online now though.

I found the entertainers prices were reasonable .

I have got most of mine online from the entertainer and play.com.

I like ELC for smaller children also Tesco's have had some good offers.

I think there is a real lack of proper traditional toyshops and its such a shame
. I am so fed up of ELC - you just see the same things over and over again, and Toysrus can be very impersonal.
I have bought all my toys online for the last 3 years - from independent toyshops, although it is true, I would like to be able to go and see and touch toys before I buy.

My dream is to open one myself - I think it would do really well in my town.

Kim- i would love to open a toy shop too .

We have a lovely traditional toy shop near us that sells playmobil, plan toys, lego, lots of wooden toys etc.., i love going in there to look around, so much better than the shops full of plastic tat, bratz etc.

We have a lovely independent one but it is ludicrously overpriced - I fear they may be shooting themselves in the foot as it's never busy.

I tend to buy online or we go to Hamleys if the DC are choosing something.

Internet, unless it's a party gift, and then I just grab some crap something from Sainsburys.
