Right, who would like to help me find my MIL's aparently easy Christmas request?

Couple of years ago, we bought her a black & white stationery set - a sort of damask design type thing.
She loved it, and wants a repeat.
She is a lovely MIL, so I actually do want to buy her something she would like. Diamonte an added bonus

Have looked everywhere, and googled everything I can think of.

Closest I got was a Laura Ashley notepad that I found in WHSmith, but can't find it online.

Aghhhhh, help!

What would you include in a stationary set?

MuffinToptheMule · 06/12/2009 21:18

deepdarkwood · 06/12/2009 21:22

Have you tried Etsy.com. It's all done in dollars but there are a lot of UK sellers on there who might have what you need...

Paperchase-black, grey and pink

Close-ish!

thisisyesterday · 06/12/2009 21:26

paperchase?

JaneiteMightBite · 06/12/2009 21:27

Paperchase usually do lovely damask-type notepads etc.

If it doesn't have to be damask, Emma Bridgewater's black toast range stationery is lovely.

lal123 · 06/12/2009 21:27

paperchase do nice stuff - and can buy online

FrannyandZooey · 06/12/2009 21:28

here's a start maybe?

lal123 · 06/12/2009 21:28

lol - great minds

thisisyesterday · 06/12/2009 21:29

anything on here?

thisisyesterday · 06/12/2009 21:30

or this one?

MuffinToptheMule · 06/12/2009 21:31

I've found:

a notebook

a pen pot

and

some writing paper.

Not so great but they are damask.

LittlewhiskersCat · 06/12/2009 21:32

By stationery set do you mean quality writing paper and envelopes?

John Lewis have some lovely sets such as this one here, I have seen more in store too.

deepdarkwood · 06/12/2009 21:34

Paperchase - yes, I've seen them, and forgotten all about them - and it's where we bought the last set I think that may be my closest bet. It's just a bit busy, isn't it?

There are some lovely things on etsy - but the ones that'll shop to the UK are too funky

I had seen the Emma Bridgewater, but that's more my aesthetic than hers

Thank you all for looking!

Something like this from Roger La Borde? They sell in House of Fraser as well as online...

Mbear · 06/12/2009 21:37

Might be worth trying the Victoria and Albert museum's website (apologies can't do the link thing) their shop does lovely stuff and online sales.

Also National Trust type places might have nice stuff.

deepdarkwood · 06/12/2009 21:38

Ohhh, lots more - thank you thank you (dh is very amused that my approach to shopping problems is now to simply ask mn )

MuffinToptheMule - loving your contributions, I think we have a winner!

JaneiteMightBite · 06/12/2009 21:39
