Wrapping large presents

Anyone got any suggestions on how to wrap huge presents without them looking really crap? Will need to wrap a lego play table which has 2 chairs with it and a Thomas the tank train table (if I can get hold of one - see my other thread. Would love to be able to wrap them up nicely so the kids could have a fab time unwrapping them on Christmas morning. Any ideas??

I think I'd just get the extra wide wrapping paper from somewhere like toys'r'us and not worry too much about the standard of wrapping, and then stick a huge bow and tag on each present so they look really massive

DD's present is nearly as big as a washing machine in its box so I have the same problem.

I was thinking of using a cheapy Christmas tablecloth and stapling it round rather than paper, then a bow maybe...

Good luck finding the Thomas Table

With a really enormous present, I 'd find a flat bed sheet and drape it over, so it can be unveiled rather than unwrapped, more of a "ta da!!!" than lots of ripping. You can decorate with tinsel and bows. I have used those cheap plastic Christmas tablecloths before in desperation! Young dc's dont care about the standard of wrapping, they just want to rip it off!

For medium sized presents, I've put them inside those cheap felt santa sacks you can get on markets for £1-1.50, which you can re-use next year.

Table cloths a fab idea because I already have paper Thomas the tank one which I can use - and i am also looking for an excuse to get 2 new tables cloths anyway! Thank you.
