Just wondered if anyone had been yet and if there is anything to do that doesnt cost an arm and a leg? We would be taking ds (4.9) so particularly interested to see if there is much for littlies!

Hi - DH and I went on Friday with DS (2.3). There are plenty of things for LO's to do, but tbh none of it is free. Entry is free, as is a visit to santa claus. But all the rides, observation wheel and circus cost. They have small train rides/ roller coasters that are suitable for little kids and toddlers.

We did the circus, observation wheel and santa claus (they were all enough excitement for DS who then flaked out). Souvenir photo plus food bought us up to £70 spent in 3 hours. We did no other rides.

I think it is a wonderful day out and we loved it, as did DS. But it is not remotely cheap.

its absolulty fantastic.
The vast majority of the rides are for the younger ones but nothing is less than 3 tokens/£3.

Food is all German origin so lots of pretzels and spicey sausages. plus loads and loads of sweets and cakes.

Don't think it w ill be a cheap day out though, not unless you have an iron will and a very well behaved DC.

butit is fabulous and you will love it just as much as the dc

wow £70 in 3 hours ... that is a tad worrying!

was that for peak time or off peak?

Off peak. We bought tickets in advance for the observation wheel and the circus. Think they were about £40-£45 for the three of us.

Then another tenner on the photo with santa - which was actually lovely and our first santa photo ever, so we had to buy it.

Then another £15 on some food for DH and I (we took our own food for DS)

But you dont have to do the stuff we did. That money could be spent on the rides instead. DS did love the circus though.

it IS a lovely experience but defintely not cheap.Lovely atmosphere if you go after dark-lights and real Xmassy feel.
As said before,if you have an iron will and can refuse requests to go on rides then you could keep the budget down.

am not convinced we would get away with not going on rides .. I think we may have to give it a miss unless we win the lottery first! Thanks for the advice everyone!
