No, but hopefully someone else has as I'm considering getting one this year!

Will keep watching...

There are gorgeous everywhere IMHO (M&S, John Lewis especially) but £££. I want this one: www.johnlewis.com/230632430/Product.aspx but am also loving the idea of prelit trees. We normally get a large shrub and plant it out though TBH, don't laugh, I make it Christmassy!

We've had our fake Douglas Fir for aobut 5 years now. it's 6ft tall and we got it from Studio.
Not much help though am I?

cherrymonster · 15/11/2009 12:29

there are some lovely ones in the range at the moment. i have a beautiful 7ft tree which i got from studio 3 years ago, but have decided i want a real tree this year. i thought they were going to be mega-expensive, but have found a lovely 6ft low drop one in b&q for £35.

I have a John Lewis pre lit one. This is the third year it will be going up.

Last year I just kept looking at it saying "I love my tree."

Its really bushy and easy to put up. It cost £130 which I think is very expensive, but I bought it when I was better off and if I get 10 years out of it, which is my plan, Thats £13 per year.

I personally think the Premier ones are over priced, but that just might be the shops where Ive seen them.

rainbowface · 15/11/2009 13:56

The one I have just now is very triangular looking (if you know what I mean). The ones I have seen so far seem simillar. What I wanted was more of a bushy shape at the bottom like the real trees, but havent seen anything like that - l cant think of anywhere else to look but I will keep searching.

You need a REALLY good garden centre!!!
Don't know where about's you are in the country but no of 2 in the South East/East.
Snowhill, West Sussex
Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire

Trouble is, if you find a good store all the decent ones will be gone in a week or two- so hurry!

We have this tree - Dunhill fir by National Tree Company, I think it's american. This will be its' 7th Christmas. It has quite full branches with bristly 'needles'. If you can't find one locally, they are available from webbsdirect.co.uk in 3 heights from £69.99

NorbertDentressangle · 16/11/2009 09:54

I was going to suggest a garden centre too.

There are a few around our way that have an amazingly large range of Xmas trees and decorations.

I'm not a fan of fake trees at all but even I've seen ones I would happily consider.

Whereabouts are you rainbowface and someone might beable to suggest a garden centre near you?

tillytips · 17/11/2009 11:52

Homebase are selling all of their trees for half price at the moment. We have relented and brought one this year. I always have real trees but they are so expensive that i've compromised. Fake one indoors and a small real one in the front porch.
We paid £39,99 for a 7ft one. Hope it's ok!!!
