Maybe he passes away. The tiny microwavable christmas pudding for one is the final dagger in his heart, he cannot go on without his wife's (delia's) christmas pud. The memories are too strong. He decides this is the moment to let go and join Iris in heaven.

His daughter finds him the next day, slumped in his chair. The christmas pud (still in the plastic microwavable pot) has rolled from his lap. "Mummy, what is this?" asks his little grandaughter. "I don't know darling, I don't know".

Nor do mine (well, DH and DC) - DS thinks he likes mince pies and eats 1/2 of one each year. I do the sad single microwavable pud thing for me - and defiantly make/buy mince pies anyway.

I dislike all of those. I don't like fruit cake so that rules out 2 of them and mice pies are gross.
