I can't decide what I'm going for... I can hardly wear glittery heels and a sparkly to prance around on the Wii and cook dinner...

But jeans and a t-shirt seems a bit un-special.

Dazzle me with yer yuletide ensembles, o mumsnetters!

At my mum's I am forced to wear something involving glitter or sequins. Accessorised with a flashing Santa badge, bauble earrings or some such cack.

If I don't bring my own sequin-festooned item, I am provided with one of hers. Therefore I have learnt to bring my own (but rebelliously wear jeans on my bottom half).

Yes, I am 38 years old.

something clean

Morning is spent in your new PJ's (which are always opened by everyone on Christmas Eve so that you are in your smartest PJ's when Santa sees you ).

Everyone has Christmas outfits - I think last years was a woolen dress for me. This year, I am due DC2 around 15th December so I might not make it out of my new (already chosen) PJ's

we're "just at home" for xmas but i never turn down an excuse to get dressed up, plus why save making an effort (god i hate that phrase) for everyone else?

DippyDino · 05/11/2009 15:21

I may look for some glittery sequinned Xmas pyjamas...
Have we identified a gap in the market?!

if i'm at my parents just any ole thing, nice and comfy for slobbing around
if i'm at the in-laws however we have to dress up

were having a buffet at my mums on xmas day so i think its going to be a pretty chilled affair...... so the morning will be spent in pj's ith the kids opening gifts and then I think jeans and a comfey top maybe with a bit of sparkle on it will do.
Were having a big family meal out on boxing day and having our xmas dinner then so i think i will save dressing up for then.

MintyCane · 05/11/2009 15:31

Pjs for as long as I can get away with it.

I think you really should have left yourself more time to decide.

DippyDino · 05/11/2009 23:48

lol Minty. I just didn't think ahead - must get more organised...

i wear red top or a bit of sparkle, dont go overboard but like to make a bit of effort.

if it's hot a sundress and bikini, if it turns to custard on the big day linen trousers and top usually, the ds's and dh slob in shorts and t-shirt (smart ones if we get invited to the neighbours for pre-lunch drink and nibbles!)

MillyMollyMoo · 06/11/2009 11:10

Last year I bought a beautiful red Nigella esq silk dress and splattered gravy on it, which of course will not come out, dressing gown this year me thinks.

KnottyLocks · 06/11/2009 11:28

I'm thinking this with suggested make-up.

Or the pretty much gravy resistant outfit here

Nutcracker model looks like Holly Willoughby and the one with the velvet doilies looks like Tana Ramsay.

Holly looks great but Tana has done what she always does and has over accessorized. Such a shame when people spoil a look with a tacky piece of jewellery.

something with plenty of room
