I bought myself some lovely mugs in a sale last week but then decided that I have far too many already and that I could fill them with treats and give them as gifts for Christmas. So far, I have the mugs, and some mini Green and Blacks choccy bars. I've been trying to find mini bags of ground coffee for the coffee drinkers and would like to find some nice hot chocolate sachets/tea bags for the others.

Any ideas for other things to put in them? I've set a £5 limit on each filled mug so any fillers have to be pretty inexpensive!!

Candles like Yankee but cheaper , Amazon have cheap cute mini post it notes of cute cartoon cats dogs cupcakes etc from Hong Kong, bath bomb (mind other than Lush it looks like no one else is selling them for Xmas?! Confused), could split a beauty gift set like nail polishes between a few mugs, packs of seeds for keen gardeners. Hmm will be back as I think I'll borrow steal your idea Grin

Good Lord this thread is old.

Good idea though.

Homemade sweets such as fudge or coconut ice, although the initial cost of the ingredients might seem high, each individual gift shoulr come within your budget.
The same for home made lavender bags.

Or you could make up bags of the dry ingredients for cake-in-a-mug mix, write out a recipe, pop the bag of cake mix and the recipe in the mugs and then outer wrap them.

I bought Lyons coffee bags last year for hampers & you could buy a box and split the 18 bags between your mugs. They have ground filter coffee in each bag & look like a giant tea. A box of 18 bags costs about 2.80 & is available from most large supermarkets.

What a great idea!

I got some mini marshmallows in Holland & Barrett (they were vegan so very excited about my find) - were about £2 for the bag, so pricey BUT the bag could easily be opened and split into three servings.

I think I'm going to pinch your idea (but with disposable cup/alternative to cup) for veggie/vegan friends who miss out on these fancy things.

Pound land have 2 tubes of mini marshmallows for a pound. Would fit perfectly. I have been buying mugs £2 each from Matalan. The are cream with an initial in black. Plan to fill with hot chocolate/marshmallows etc.
