Can I leave my wreath up on the door after 12th night?

It is a real one and very healthy so seems a shame to have to throw it out so soon. Is it a bad thing to leave it up?

take it down and use it as a dining table decoration with a big pillar candle?

HumphreysCorner · 04/01/2009 18:30

It is quite a big one with a massive red bow-from Morrisons. Good idea though.

Could you place it on a relative/friend's grave/memoril perhaps - this is what DH's grandad and PILs do.

HumphreysCorner · 04/01/2009 18:45

None of my relatives have a resting place sadly but there is a soldier who was killed in Iraq buried in our local church yard-wonder if it is OK to place it on his grave. Probably not.

What do you think will happen if you leave it up? There aren't any laws against it AFAIK

HumphreysCorner · 04/01/2009 18:53

Well, was just thinking it may be unlucky to leave it up after 12th night.

HC - I think its a lovely idea to place it on the soldiers grave.

Do you really think that something bad will happen to you because you have a wreath pinned to your door? Really?

One of my local pubs leaves its decorations up all year (don't ask me why). It hasn't burned down yet!

HumphreysCorner · 04/01/2009 19:12

I don't suppose anything will happen.

How about taking the red bow off, and adding some yellow ribbon, then you can call it a Spring Wreath!

Excellent idea.
