For us:
Nigella's chocolate and fruit cake - very moist and lovely. Dh declared it the best CHristmas cake ever and neither of us are big fans. Think we'll make another for New Year.

Nigella's wild rice and turkey thing for leftovers with cranberries, nuts and lime. Yummy.

Snowballs (think kiddy truffles) from a kids cook book. Again need to make more.

Nigella's Clementine cake and christmas morning muffins (not that we have them on Christmas am!) are regulars and big hits.

What are yours?

ONe of the tastiest things we've eaten over past 2 weeks is mashed potato made with carrot in- 4:1 potatoes to carrots ratio- it was gorgeous.
Also made lamb tagine which was delicious- loosely based on Nigella's and several recipes on mn.

Nigella gingerbread stuffing was amazing; there were no leftovers to freeze .

Nigella chestnut soup was delicious.

Nigella maple/pecan cheesecake looking pretty fab for tomorrow night.

I heart Nigella.

Shame I can't find a 5 - 10 minute throw together yet fabulous veggie main course for tomorrow - ideas welcomed!

HA, go to the good food website and put barley in the recipe thingy...the second one is a salady thingy with butternut, olives, sundried tomatoes etc. Not exactly a 5-10 min throw together, but not hard, can be made in advance and truly yummy. Otherwise my standard is to roast red peppers (I know you hate them!), and add them and spinach to a cheese sauce with lots of parmesan in. Pine nuts feature too. Bread crumbs on top. Tastes better than it sounds - honest.

Oh and Nigella's stem ginger gingerbread, with her spiced aromatic plums and Barbados cream

I notice most of these recipes are by Nigella or Jamie Oliver, so thought I'd add something different. On Boxing Day, I made James Martin's Sticky Glazed Ham from December's Good Food magazine. It was delicious with new potatoes and a variety of salads. Everybody loved it and commented how nice it was - even someone who thought they didn't like pork. It was also really easy. (If anyone uses the recipe, I would advise using a far smaller joint than quoted in the recipe. James Martin quotes 3.3-4kg of uncooked ham. I used 2.2kg for 5 adults and 2 children, and it was ample with plenty leftover for sandwiches)
