I have my order from tesco due on tuesday. So far in my basket i have £181 and not finished yet. There is no alcohol. Seems a lot of money but every time i try to think of what to remove, i cannot, as i need it all.

I haven't spent anything yet as i know the christmas fairys are coming tonight to clean, shop and do everything else for me.....

yummybunnymummy · 23/12/2008 17:11

techpep...could the fairies pop here please?

kerryk · 23/12/2008 18:03

my mum gave me £150 of tesco vouchers and i said that was far to much.

so far i have spend nearer £250 but i think i am done.

we did but 4 boxes of beer of that, 1 litre of bombay saphire and 1 litre of jack daniels but the rest of the wine/spirits/ champange were bought in november.

i have no idea why it has cost so much but i dont think we will go hungry over the next few days!!!

CharCharGaboriaInExcelsisDeo · 23/12/2008 18:07

I went to Asda this morning and spent £30. DP will have to pop down tomorrow as well to get the last few things which will cost about £15 I think.

Umlellala · 23/12/2008 18:14

too much

MrsMattie · 23/12/2008 18:18

way way too much

TheFallenMadonna · 23/12/2008 18:21

Oh God - loads. But I have vast numbers of people arriving at various times over the next few days.

CatMandu · 23/12/2008 18:22

I spent £133 in Sainsburys last night, but I also had an £8 money off thingy and used all my nectar points £40. There was no booze and no turkey. I feel quite pleased with myself. One year we went to Sainsburys with dc's and dh (who always spends too much) and it came to £500 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Never again.

LadyOfWaffle · 23/12/2008 18:25

Over £100 this morning and prob. another £50 tomorrow morning. THat is mixed in with things like a mop & bucket, roasting trays, a little bit of alcohol. It just seems to come to so much. DH did buy a MASSIVE chicken and a MASSIVE beef joint for Christmas day instead of small chicken and small beef So that was £18 alone.

NAB3hundredChristmaslights · 23/12/2008 18:27

Christmas dinner is just a fancy roast dinner imo.

Haven't spent much more than normal and will stil have lovely food and extra treats.

octavia · 23/12/2008 21:15

£45.67 which was £5.67 over my usual shopping budget.

harpomarx · 23/12/2008 21:19

you sound like me, octavia. I went mad and bought some pickles and chocolate biscuits. It is Christmas, after all.

octavia · 23/12/2008 21:21

you brought pickles AND choccie biscuits!!

nametaken · 23/12/2008 21:21

About £50 more than I usually spend. Usually spend about £110 per week for 5 people.

harpomarx · 23/12/2008 21:22

there was a small tin of olives too...

octavia · 23/12/2008 21:29

Now your just showing off !

harpomarx · 23/12/2008 21:33

mrstimlovejoy · 23/12/2008 21:53

mum gave me asda card for £150 which i've used over last couple of weeks for cupboard and freezer items.spent another £100 in asda yesterday which included gifts.will probably spend £10 in local greengrocers tomorrow and £10 in somerfield.don't intend on doing another big shop until after new year.

gemmiereindeerlegs · 23/12/2008 21:57

I spent £240 yesterday, but in my defence it did include 2 last minute pressies, some stocking fillers for the kids, some drinks to take to a party tomorrow and Christmas food for 8. plus boring stiuff like washing powder and cat litter

Nemostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 23/12/2008 22:06

my mum took me shopping on sunday and spent £110 in tescos.
Have ocado shop coming tomorrow which is also on £110

To be fair though it includes nappies, outfit for ds, cupboards and freezer were bare and needed dishwasher tabs, washing tabs etc so everything was/is being refilled

Nemostwonderfultimeoftheyear · 23/12/2008 22:06

oh and will last right in to new year..bar milk and bread top ups...and there is no alcohol

nbee84 · 23/12/2008 22:32

£80 Ocado shop
£110 in Tesco (at least half of that was booze, dinner for 7 last Sat was in there too)
£20 Aldi
£50 local Butchers
and just done fresh stuff in Asda £75

  • need a lie down now

At home all Christmas, 4 of us + 2 guests Christmas day and 2 guests Boxing day til Sun/Mon

Spread my money about a bit, eh?

octavia · 23/12/2008 22:36

Harpo , now really who on earth is going to eat those[retching/sick/showing off face at solives stuffed with nasty things]

harpomarx · 23/12/2008 22:47

octavia, I don't intend to share them

melpomene · 23/12/2008 22:52

£116 Tesco online shop (slightly more than we normally spend, to last over 10 days)
plus an extra £60 or so on Christmas goodies, biscuits, sweets, drinks, cakes etc which I paid for from nectar points. DD2 asked me 'Mummy, why is our trolley piled up like a high mountain up to the sky?"
