do you think that santa this year might be a little concerned with packaging and waste and therefore be able to get away with not wrapping anything????

well

or is that lazy and mean of me a little sad for the children?

Oh god yes, have just had to get completely rat-arsed just to wrap the teachers' presents, I just can't get into the spirit of it unless i've had a few.

psychohohohoho · 19/12/2008 00:07

Hence crap capitalisation

NCRedBreastedBirdy · 19/12/2008 00:09

Nope, no defence at all, my dcs were on their last day today. I finished yesterday so did I;

A) wrap gifts madly to get them out of the way

B) Get on top of housework so my evenings are free for wrapping gifts

C) Organise gifts into little piles by person ready for shipping out to various homes once wrapped

Or

D) As little as humanly possible whilst consistantly and determindly stepping over the pile of gift wrap set at the ready

tough one I know

PurplePillowsInSantasBed · 19/12/2008 00:09

If I could I would

Have even offered to wrap Trinity's as I love wrapping stuff, the weirder the shape the better

I really am weird eh?

NCRedBreastedBirdy · 19/12/2008 00:11

Now that is something that is banned in our house - gifts are for the last year of school, cards are for christmas if I remember them

PurplePillowsInSantasBed · 19/12/2008 00:16

Course maltesers will do.

I've let Dd down on that one

Bought a little santa planter and plant and Dd wanted to make mincepies but guess who forgot to take pastry out of the fringe in time

We're going to have to make them after school and take them to the teachers house.

PurplePillowsInSantasBed · 19/12/2008 00:18

Of course you all realised I meant fridge didn't you

psychohohohoho · 19/12/2008 00:20

do you know somehting......flame has put us both to shame on the teacher pressie front.

she made biscuits.....and not just any biscuits.......dairy-free biscuits for flamechicks teacher (and for me), and THEN.....

put them in a fancy organza bag!!!

now that is a bit too far...

MamaHobgoblin · 19/12/2008 09:39

Dunno if this is any use, but after we were about 14 or so, my mum used to ask us to wrap each other's stocking presents (yes, we still got them then - and later. ). I liked it - you could see what your brother was getting. Must have been a relief to my mother, anyway. Are any of your DC of an age where they know it's mum and dad really, not santa, and might want to help with the little ones' stockings?

SatsumaMoon · 19/12/2008 09:56

I don't think our parents ever wrapped the presents from Santa - sometimes they even still had the price tags on from the local shop they bought them at!

psychohohohoho · 19/12/2008 09:57

actually, DD1 might like to help....she is 14.

will ask......otherwise, santa will be writing to the smaller ones and telling them that this year, crunch-busting and wastage being an issue, he is not wrapping everything.

as for the rest......I will be drinking, wrapping, posting, drnking, wrapping, posting (and that is posting on MN)

My mum has 6 kids, and we always got stocking stuff straight in the stocking, no wrapping.

Other presents were done the lazy economical way - us girls got our presents in a nice cloth bag, the boys got them in a Tesco shopper.

Saves time, money and the environment!
