I have a 10lb Turkey (thanks mum [hmm)) to cook along with spuds and pigs in blankets and stuffing - the rest can go on the hob. I have 1 shelf in a tiny oven.

WHat can i cook in advance if anything, i am used to having a huge oven that fits everything in, i am stumped this year!

Just do your turkey first and 25 mins before the end pop the pigs in to the roasting tray. When thats cooked cover the turkey and pigs with foil and wrap a tea towel around it to keep it hot, they will be a lot nicer with a good resting anyway. That will stay hot for well over an hour and pop the roasts in to brown (they will only take 35ish mins) Cook your veg/gravy on the hob. Hope that helps!!

I am sure I will get a telling off for this, but I always did the meat the day before and let it go cold. Then the oven is free on the big day, serve the meet cold, the gravy will warm it through.

Tough to those who don't like it, it is my Christmas too :-)

Someone was saying on here a few days ago, you can actually cook the turkey ahead, then leave to settle, carve and something about laying slices in a tray with a film of water. Then popping it in the oven before serving so the water evaporates and steam heats the turkey leaving it lovely and moist. I will try and find the exact instructions for you.

If you don't go with COV's method I think that you need to roast potatoes first and then put them in to heat up once the turkey has come out. They could probably just go on the bottom of the oven and put the pigs and stuffing to cook on the shelf above, and maybe swap around just before you serve to get them really hot. I have done a big Christmas dinner with a titchy oven and really wished I'd cooked the potatoes first, we seemed to be waiting forever for them to be done.

Reheated roasties aren't nice tbh. Still searching for the exact instructions!
