Had enough for the kids ages ago (have lots of children in the family to buy for) but I keep seeing stuff and buying extra kids stuff! Think I am going to have enough to use for birthdays as well! Lots of bargains though . Love buying for the kids but

I HATE BUYING FOR ADULTS!!

DHs family are very stuck up with presents and will quite happily turn their noses up if they don't approve.

Still have to buy for:

MIL - the fussiest person of all! She said she wants a jewlerry box but no idea where to start Under £20 max budget, less if possible but don't want it to look tacky. Can be something completely different

MIL's BF - No idea!

FIL - Don't want to spend loads on him as he has 3 young children we have spent money on. Was thinking about a framed picture of our DD (his only grandchild and he loves her to bits) but wasn't sure if that would be enough?

Step MIL - Again, just something little to open. Got her a cookbook last year but no idea for this year!

My older sister - lives in a small flat so no space for stuff she doesn't need. Married so if it was a gift for hubby as well that would be even better but not essential. Has 2 dogs thats she loves so could be dog related?

Younger sister - At uni, 20years old, not any particular interests really. Not over interested in drinking etc as much as most 20 year old students, otherwise I would get her some drinks. Will do if I get desperate!

My Dad - always the hardest person to buy for. Only really interested in computors but he works for IBM so gets everything he needs from work!

Saw a leaflet for ASDA that do photo mugs for £5 and also mouse mats with photos on. But wasn't sure how long it takes? As in if there is time before xmas? Couldn't find them on their website. ASDA Is close enough to go and get it done, but far enough to be annoying if it is a wasted trip!

Sorry I know I am probably being a PITA to ask all this but really stuck! We are very skint so don't want to spend money on crap. Would love to get all the xmas shopping done asap though so I can relax!!

PLEASE help me! lOl

I would go to boots and buy 3 for 2 offers. You can get your older sister and hubby a tea set that comes with posh teas, coffees and biscuits. Your younger sister - a smelly set or make up, step MIL and FIL something like you are getting your older sister (two presents in one, what about having a bunch of flowers sent on the weekend before xmas? i did that for my mum and she loved them.

jewellery boxes in BHS

younger sister - food hamper/wok and cooking stuff/ cafetiere and coffee

have you seen the threads on MN about putting all the ingredients for a meal into a hamper with the recipe?

Dad - get a book? eg this

I saw a nice large jewellery box in lidl for £9.99 - bargain!

Saw a posh woman in John Lewis saying that the M & S jewellery boxes were better than the (IMO) swanky John Lewis ones and hopefully much cheaper.

Can't believe how many MNers say their relatives turn their nose up at presents. Never come across such bad manners....

I have just bought my MiL a photodiary - which has photos of the DCs for every week - cost £10.50 - 10% mumsnet discount - and we are going to fill in dates when she's allowed to visit before we give it her, so she knows she will see the kids regularly.

John Lewis has just reduced some nice boxes with matching photoframes btw. I think they were £7.50
