Secondary School "Etiquette" - any staff around?

Is giving Christmas pressies to secondary school teachers a complete "no-no"? I know at DD1 secondary, there was something in the new students book about not doing so. DD2 started a different school last September and as she has SEN, we were really concerned. She has had a brilliant form teacher who has really helped her, far more than I would have expected a secondary form teacher to, and I would like to send in something. I suspect it might be best for me to drop it into reception, rather than getting her to give it to him, but would that be OK?

when teaching I had some presents from my Y7 tutor group, and a few from older children. I think it would be fine to take a present in.

I'm going to drop a bottle of wine up to the school office for DS1's tutor. He's in yr 9 and would have the rippig whoopsie taken out of him for taking a present in for her but she's a lovely girl and I want her to have something as she's been so good with him.
