not sure of what kind of thing you are after...

  • www.firebox.com - there's a £5 off code on mnet somewhere
  • www.hawkin.com/ has funny stuff
TackyChristmasLights · 11/12/2008 21:03

why does it do that when you only press post once???

makes me look so dum

Greedygirl · 11/12/2008 21:06

Gremlins Tacky! My DH also proving v.difficult to buy for this year. He wants a PS3. He ain't getting one .

I like this website in general, always browsing, never bought anything yet. But they have gifts for men on not on the high street

Greedygirl · 11/12/2008 21:44

I love that website too Waltzy but I have never bought anything from there either - gorgeous but expensive.

my dh is a bit fussy though - doesn't want anything gimicky or gadgety. In fact he doesn't really want anything except for some trouser which he just said that he would get for himself. Do I take it that this really means nothing?

sorry - blatant hijack

Greedygirl · 11/12/2008 21:53

Not hijack - chat. My DH just the same, claims he doesn't need or want anything (apart from aforementioned PS3) but think he would be a bit surprised if I took him at his word! So I want something reasonably priced, not too tacky/joky but not too poncy - I'll know when I see it. Probably doesn't exist.

Yeah and not another item of knitwear!!

I thought I had done quite well this year and bought two black champagne glasses from M & S and was going to get some half decent fizz and we could have had this on Xmas morning in a vague attempt at sophistication and romance (who was i kidding). Whilst out today on a rare joint shopping trip DH said how much he hated glasses you couldn't see through. So I have fessed up to this idea and said I will give them to my brother (may keep them for me sod it). Now DH says that he MAY have liked them .

Good god - was really looking forward to Xmas this year and getting all table decs together etc. Now kids are full on getting pressies for school mates which are getting totally out of hand. Really doesn't have to be this stressful - it actually isn't stressful, it's only Xmas FGS.

Greedygirl · 11/12/2008 22:38

I always have a moment every year when I am feeling harrassed in the middle of xmas shopping and I want to say to everyone "lets just stop all this silliness now and go home and have a nice cup of tea". But you have to do the silliness. And school mates giving each other pressies is madness! No wonder you are feeing stressed.

BTW THANKS babyOcho cos I was just browsing on firebox when I came across this. My DH is getting a new ipod for xmas off his parents so this is brill as he loves gadgets and his alarm clock is rubbish. Got it off Amazon tho cos it was cheaper there! Thanks again.

that ipod clock does look good actually - may put that on the list!
