yes waynetta I do similar, also fry bacon chopped small with the onion and throw in a sharp eating apple as well.

One year I forgot about it as well

ilovemydog · 13/12/2008 16:18

cash (taxi fares)
coleman's mustard
stilton
oat cakes
Port
Bonios
blank dvds - to record fab films at xmas

Oh, and blank Christmas cards so when you get one from someone you haven't remembered, can just pop in post...

chloemegjess · 13/12/2008 16:22

You HAVE to have sausage meat!! It is my favorate part of Xmas dinner and going to MILs for the first time this year and will be really dispointed if she doesn't do it. I LOVE it.

twoluvlysnowmen · 13/12/2008 16:25

If you've got pets, don't forget them.

MIL used to wrap up a tin of kitekat and chappie and put them under the tree, just in case...

Myrrhcy · 13/12/2008 16:54

Don't forget things like tomatoes, salad leaves/lettuce, a couple of lemons (for G&T as well as cooking!), eggs, flour, pizzas, baby food, child-friendly food

I often forget/run out of non food items such as

Crackers
Wrapping paper
Gift tags (essential ime)
Freezer bags/clingfilm
Batteries
Few extra Christmas cards
Stamps
Nappies
Tissues
Calpol and baby Nurofen, Karvol capsules (yes, I'm remembering dd's first Christmas)

Clary · 13/12/2008 23:49

Ah myrhcy, I feel I am about to run out of sellotape, another big no-no.

Salad stuff is a good one, also a late run for some fresh-ish bread - not that anyone ever seems to want it.

(please don't buy stuffing mix - it is really easy to make your own, and it tastes much nicer....my Mum used always make it on Christmas eve, and the smell was fab, so I have started doing the same)

And then you've got BISTO on your list Xmas Shock Please don't make bisto gravy - it is really easy to make your own Xmas Wink

ready2pop · 22/12/2010 20:32
